       YEAR 9 BENUE

his summer, I had the incredible
opportunity to travel to Serbia to
T train and compete in junior tennis
       tournaments. It was a life-changing

experience, from the warm hospitality to
learning about a new culture every day.
At first, it was nerve-wracking being the only
Black player in most events, but I soon settled
in, made friends, and enjoyed every moment.

I’m proud to say I won one tournament, placed
second in another, and third in a third one

during my stay. I also played in the Banja Luka
Open 2025, Bosnia, a Tennis Europe Category 3
event, which pushed me to a new level.

Off the court, watching professional football
and basketball matches inspired me to keep
working hard. This trip helped me grow both

as a player and as a person, an unforgettable
journey I’ll always be grateful for.

Thanks to The Regent School authority for
supporting me throughout my journey while
ensuring I’m not lacking in my academics. I am
       forever grateful.
