Child Nutrition Gets Seal of

Approval for Successful

Afterschool Meal Program

The Child Nutrition Department is proud to announce that on March
18, 2021 we successfully completed a perfect audit by Texas
Department of Agriculture (TDA) for the Child and Adult Care Food
Program (CACFP) At-Risk Afterschool Supper Meal Program. The
Southside ISD Child Nutrition Staff receives a successful
audit. afterschool meal for each student consists of one meat, one grain,
1/2 cup of vegetable, 1/4 cup of fruit and milk. This meal is served in
addition to the breakfast and lunch that students were already receiving. This was a big accomplishment, since
the the At-Risk Afterschool Meals Program was just implemented this school year. We would like to thank all

Southside ISD Staff for their help and support in handing out these additional student meals.

TECHNOLOGY

Nearly 7,000 Devices Given to Students

The Technology department continues to expand its roles and support
beyond the walls of the district. As the challenges that were brought
on by COVID closures continue to slow, the technology department

remains dedicated to providing onsite and remote technical support to
those in need. Our top priority is making sure the students of Southside
ISD have the necessary equipment to get them through these tough
days of alternative learning environments. Over the course of the

and families to replace older devices with brand new equipment. To date, the technology department had
distributed over 990 iPads, 4500 Chromebooks, and 1500 internet hotspots to our students and families.
