METRO), a grassroots community activist group, is
joining forces with the Southside Independent School
District to be a positive force to boost academics and

        on December 3, 2020.

Superintendent Mr. Rolando Ramirez said, “We are a
team and we believe in the triangle of students, parents,
        and the District working together.”

COPS/METRO parent organizer Estela Sanchez said
she’s looking forward to working with the District as
it empowers parents and offers parents more oppor-

                                                   DISTRICT LEADERS LAUNCH

                                                   DOOR-TO-DOOR CAMPAIGN

Southside ISD Superintendent Mr. Rolando Ramirez has launched an
all-out effort of grounds men, custodians, teachers, child nutrition work-
ers, and bus drivers who have begun hitting the pavement.
“We want to open up lines of communication with our parents and what
better way than to meet them at their homes and let them know we’re
here to help them with anything they need,” said Superintendent Mr.
                                                   Ramirez.

Like others, parent Patricia Orozco couldn’t believe the Superintendent
paid them a visit. Her daughter, Caitlin, is a Southside High School ju-
nior attending class virtually because of the pandemic.

“The house visit was a very nice an unexpected surprise. It definitely
made Caitlin feel special that she was recognized for her hard work and
dedication. Thank you Southside ISD,” said Mrs. Orozco.

District officials will continue visiting neighborhoods throughout the
school year and meeting with parents and students to address any needs
                                                   they have.
