She wore a kurta (traditional attire for Hindu women), and a shawl blanketed her shoulders,
giving her a modest look. Her first son died as a result of leukemia(blood cancer). Going
through a sorrowful emotion and a saddening event was difficult in itself until that was
indeed the last straw for her. As she spoke about the treacherous occurrences, tears flowed
from her brown eyes. Alas, Aunt Mia, her sister, decided to welcome her into their home,
where she currently resides. Over time, her guilt turned to anger as she used vulgar language
on others to soothe her own emotions and keep her past from haunting her. Her delusional
mind was the only way to convince her broken heart to falsely mend itself. Now for the
answer to my question, it is to simply accept, endure, and pretend to move on while a smile
braces over one’s face as one awaits their own demise.
“It’s your fault,” my husband said. At first, I didn't believe him. But, now I know.”
“It’s my fault, it always was.”
