SCHOLARSHIPS
A NEW GENERATION
Following the success of last year’s scholarships, grants and
awards scheme, IGEM is proud to announce this year’s recipients
of its scholarships, supporting the engineers of the future.
Let’s find out a little more about our bright young stars
EVE CHILLCOTT is a recipient of IGEM’s
undergraduate scholarship. She will
be studying Engineering Design with
Study in Industry MEng (Hons), at the
University of Bristol.
She said: “I was first drawn to the
course because it incorporates more
design projects than other engineering
courses. It also allows me to start
broadly so I can study many disciplines
and then specialise later; I’m keen to
learn about many fields of engineering
and don’t want to rule anything out.
“Having a scholarship will really
benefit me financially and allow me
to focus my time on studying. It will
also allow me to attend events that
will help me further my professional
development.”
Eve hopes her studies will take her
one step closer to achieving CEng
status, while also improving upon
broader skills such as management.
She is particularly interested in
focusing her work towards sustainability.
CARL LEWIS is the second recipient of
our undergraduate scholarships. He
is undertaking Integrated Mechanical
and Electrical Engineering MEng
