Molecular Zoonotic Unit
Unit Molekular Zoonotik bertanggungjawab menjalankan aktiviti pemantauan dan penyelidikan
berkaitan penyakit bawaan hidupan liar melalui program Wildlife Disease Surveillance Progamme
(WDSP). Sebanyak, 15 program telah berjaya dijalankan dengan 941 sampel daripada 178 haiwan liar
terdiri dari kumpulan primat, mamalia kecil dan mamalia besar telah dikutip dan diuji bagi
mengesan kehadiran virus bagi kumpulan Corona, Filo, Flavi, Influenza dan Paramyxo.

The Molecular Zoonotic Unit is responsible for monitoring and conducting research related to wildlife
zoonotic diseases through Wildlife Disease Surveillance Programme (WDSP). 15 programmes were
successfully conducted, with a total of 941 samples successfully collected from 178 individuals
including non-human primates, small mammals and big mammals. Samples were screened for 5
viral families/genera and included Corona-, Filo-, Flavi-, Influenzas, and Paramyxo- virus
families/genera.
