Our History
Heart Hospital of Lafayette opened it’s doors on March 2, 2004. Owned by Our Lady of Lourdes in partnership with a group of investors, including physicians, Heart Hospital of Lafayette is part of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System, or FMOLHS.
e Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Sisters arrived in Louisiana in the early 1900s with the mission of providing the best care possible to those most in need. Incorporated as a non-pro t in 1984, FMOLHS now serves patients across Louisiana through a network of hospitals, clinics, physicians, elderly housing and integrated information systems.
Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, also part of FMOLHS, is a newly constructed facility with a sta of more than 400 physicians in a variety of medical and surgical specialties. Heart Hospital of Lafayette is at the “heart” of Our Lady of Lourdes as a nationally recognized cardiac care center with consistently high patient and employee satisfaction ratings.
While the face of healthcare has changed dramatically since the Sisters began
their mission at the turn of the century, their commitment to care is unwavering. FMOLHS, Our Lady of Lourdes and Heart Hospital of Lafayette remain dedicated to delivering high-quality, cost- e ective healthcare that increases patient satisfaction.
