Important Visitor Information
Heart Hospital of Lafayette believes visitation by family members and signi cant others contributes to quality patient care. We encourage visitors
and value the assistance family members can provide to their loved ones while under our care.
Designated caregivers, as determined by the patient and family, will be educated along with the patient in order to facilitate a return to wellness. We encourage care- givers to spend as much time as needed with the patient to learn the necessary skills to assist the patient a er discharge from the hospital.
As an important part of our team, we want you to enjoy your time with your hospitalized family member or friend.
To provide the best care, security, privacy, and comfort for all patients, we ask you to follow these guidelines for hospital visits:
• Be sure children are well-supervised
by an adult at all times. Children may not play in halls. Any child who might have a cold or fever should not come to the hospital.
• Discourage family and friends with colds, sore throats, and other viruses or infections from visiting the patient in the hospital.
• Respect all “no visitor,” “isolation,” or any other signs that have been ordered by the attending physician.
• Place your cell phones on vibrate.
•  ere are times when a patient’s condition requires all visitors to leave the room. Should such a situation arise, we respectfully request that all visitors comply with the patient’s physician, nurse or other clinical sta .
• Patient and guest parking is located in the lots in front of the main entrance to the hospital. Call Security with parking issues at 337-470-1000.
Important Numbers
When using our hospital phones, dial 9 and then the seven digit number for local calls outside the hospital. When calling the numbers below that begin with 470, dial only the last four digits for departments within the hospital.

Visiting Hours
Heart Hospital of Lafayette believes

is to provide the patient with clinically excellent and emotionally responsive care. Our patient-focused environment gives caregivers more face-to-face
time with patients while encouraging family members to be part of the healing process. Our 24/7 visitation policy o ers family members 24-hour access to patients, and sleeper beds
are incorporated into every room to accommodate an overnight guest.  is is yet another aspect of our commitment to providing the best in cardiac care to our patients and their families.
Patient Care Unit (PCU)
• One visitor is welcome or may spend the night.
• A er 8:00 p.m., check in with PBX (security can be called if needed).
Emergency Department
• Two family members or signi cant others may visit at a time.
•  ere are no sleeping accommodations for visitors in the ER.
Day Patient
• Two people are permitted to stay with the patient while in this area.
•  ere are no sleeping accommodations for visitors in the Day Patient area.
Children Visitation
• An adult must accompany children at all times.
• Children who are noisy or disturbing other patients may be asked to leave.
• Children who have, or have been exposed to an infectious illness should not be allowed in any patient care area.
• Children who are waiting while other family members visit should wait with a supervising adult
in the lobby.
We Are A Smoke-Free Campus!
This is important for the comfort & wellness of our patients & sta . This includes inside the medical facility and adjacent buildings, grounds, sidewalks, and parking lots. Please put out all cigarettes before entering the campus so we can all breathe a little easier!
