Health Careers Training: Medical Program

This class is the perfect opportunity for you to be trained in a high demand career, on a path to obtaining more experience and skills for future job growth! This course is articulated with Misiion College, and students can earn 5.5 credits upon successful completions.
This class includes 175 hours of instruction that includes classroom instruction and practice, and clinical training at a long term care facility. Upon successful completion of our program, students will take the State Certified Nurse Assistant examination. This course is articulated with Mission College. Students can earn up to 5.5 credits upon completion.

Certified Home
Health Aide (CHHA)
This training program was developed following the Department of Health Services guidelines
for the education of nurse assistants to become certified home health aides. It was designed as a 40-hour add-on course to follow a nurse assistant curriculum that meets Federal and State training regulations.
Students receive 24 Continuing Education Units (CU) toward CNA certification renewal.
Admission Requirements

3. TBtestmustbecurrentandlessthan6months old or a negative chest x-ray less than 2 years old. 4. AdvancedHighEnglishskills(testmaybegiven). Written competency evaluation of basic Certified Nursing Assistant skills will be given.

Basic First Aid
CPR
Instruction includes adult, child and infant resuscitation, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for adults, children and infants and choking techniques. The American Safety and Health Institute CPR courses are great for parents, babysitters or anyone who is interested in CPR skills and techniques.

This course is designed for non-clinical people who may need to administer first aid in an emergency. The techniques taught follow recommendations from the American Safety and Health Institute (not EMSA certified) and are highly recommended for teachers, parents, and coaches.
