School Policies and Mission Statement
FUHSD Vision Statement
Our students become lifelong learners; informed and active citizens of the world; knowledgeable and self-directed members of the workplace; and discerning participants in the arts.
FUHSD Adult School (Sunnyvale-Cupertino) Mission:
Prepare students to achieve educational, career, and personal goals.
To this end, all of our students will achieve the following School-wide Learning Outcomes:
1. Demonstrate an increased ability to communicate in both collaborative and independent settings.
2. Understand opportunities to become active and responsible members of our diverse community.
3. Demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving.
4. Demonstrate effective self-management and interpersonal skills. Set and pursue goals.
5. Use resources and technology.
Sunnyvale-Cupertino Adult and Community Education (ACE) is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

Conduct of Students
The Board of Trustees believes that all students have the right to be educated in a positive learning environment free from disruptions. On school grounds and at school activities, students shall be expected to exhibit appropriate conduct that does not infringe upon the rights of others or interfere with the school program. Behavior is considered appropriate when students are diligent in study, careful with school property, courteous, and respectful towards their teachers, other staff, students and volunteers.
Prohibited Items
Under no circumstances are students to bring weapons, explosives, alcohol, drugs or tobacco products onto campus. These items will be confiscated; further, the possession of any prohibited item will result in disciplinary and/or legal actions. Students are also reminded not to bring pets, scooters, skateboards, or in-line skates to school. All of the above items are dangerous and/or disruptive in the school setting. They may be confiscated and taken to the office.
No refunds will be given to students who voluntarily withdraw from the class in which they have enrolled. Please choose your classes carefully. Because teachers’ salaries are paid by the fees collected, there are no refunds. Refunds will be given automatically if we cancel a class. For Parenting Refund Policy see pages 16-17.
Classes are open to all students regardless of residency or citizenship. All persons 16 years of age and over may register in the community education classes.
Sunnyvale-Cupertino Adult School reserves the right to photograph classes and program participants for promotional purposes.
Adult Although we make every effort to avoid mistakes, this schedule of classes is not a School contract. We do not assume liability for errors, typographical or otherwise.

Class cancellations are determined generally a week before classes start. Please register quickly to reserve your space! Many of our class also have limited seating
and/or spaces.
