Bonjour! This class will familiarize students with no background in French with the fundamental aspects of the language and culture. Students will learn phonetic, reading and conversational skills and will develop basic communication. 30 Days to Great French and the French (Eyewitness Travel Guide Phrase Books) Paperback by DK Publishing; Schaum’sOutlineofFrenchGrammar (Schaum’s Foreign Language Series) by Mary Crocker. A short course specifically designed for travelers. Immerse yourself in a fun, relaxed atmosphere as your learn practical Spanish used in common travel situations, such as asking for directions, finding accommodations, ordering at restaurants, and more. Emphasis will be on developing your conversational and listening skills with a splash of Spanish culture. Must be a member of the Sunnyvale Senior Center.

Have you always wanted to take a shot at writing, whether it is fiction, memoir or poetry? Do
you have an unfinished manuscript that has been collecting dust in your desk drawer and want to resurrect it? The class format is seminar style in which writers read their work in progress and obtain supportive, illuminating feedback. Class members may also read the works of published authors that have been an inspiration to their creative processes. Add your talents to a very supportive group of aspiring writers.
