and new methods which introduces diversification of modalities to approaching problems which
are mutually beneficial with an understanding of how business problems are worth studying
using mathematical and mass communication research approaches, and why. It is evident that the
benefits derived from such scholarly collaboration inviting interdisciplinary research approach
are glaring and supports the popular saying that “two good heads are better than one”.
An interdisciplinary approach to research invites an inquiry platform of assemblage of
thoughts and issues of relevance where knowledge base are put in place from the perspective of
variance expertise from the vantage point of their respective orientation in the accomplishment
of a common goal.
An interdisciplinary approach exists where a platform of assemblage of research
abstracts, introductions, statement of problems, research significance, purpose, literature,
methodological approach, data collections, research instruments such as questionnaire, survey,
interview, case study, content analysis are done from the view point of different skill levels
collaborating to arrive at a level play field to resolve an issue.
Purpose of Study
The essence of Interdisciplinary research approach which encompasses the combination
of two or more academic disciplines in the format of research projects is transforming the
process of research endeavors in today’s technology driven global system. It is strengthening the
process of facts finding and making it such a powerful research outfit which enables researchers
to conduct the analysis of their research in a much more sequential, coordinated and synergized
format. It has also allowed scholars to prioritize their findings in a much more encompassing
empirical platform which is beneficial to scholarship and scholarly endeavors. This paper,
therefore reviews the advantages and disadvantages of the interdisciplinary research approach in
today’s academic world of contemporary research enterprise and proposes the formula of
