This week and over the next several months, I will be meeting

with many of you to hear stories about what you value about

your Bowie State University experience. I want to listen and

talk with you about your ideas about how we can work

together to move the university forward – as a team.

My vision for the future is to preserve Bowie State

University’s lasting legacy, while building on the institution’s

strengths and excellence. I am looking forward to working

with each one of you as we focus on the goal of student

success and our commitment to public education.

I would like to thank Dr. Mickey L. Burnim for his dedicated

leadership and invaluable contribution to Bowie State

University as president for the past 11 years. His devotion to

the university has played a significant role in the institution’s

progress.

I truly believe that Bowie State University is racing toward a

bright future. I am committed to achieving continued success

for the university and grateful for the opportunity to serve as

your new president.
