OPENING REMARKS BY THE DEAN

Dear New Graduate Students:

Welcome to Graduate Studies at Bowie State University. This is the beginning of your tenure as
a graduate student and we intend to provide you with the tools necessary to assist you in
accomplishing the goals you have set for yourself.

This orientation is designed to familiarize you with some of the policies, set standards, offices,

administrators, faculty and staff who will assist you in your educational endeavor. We want you to
feel comfortable at Bowie State University and for you to understand that you are a valuable
member of this academic family.

Please use this time to ask questions and acclimate yourself with your respective academic

program. The University is well represented this evening to avail you the opportunity to learn as
much about the University and your academic program as you can.
