Graduate Student Association

Greetings my fellow Bulldogs,

It is with great honor and pleasure that I welcome you to the Bowie State University family. For those who are
continuing your education in graduate school, welcome back to Bowie State University. My name is Micheal
McGee and I have the pleasure of serving as the Graduate Student Association President for the 2020-2021
academic year. I am a student in the Counseling Psychology program.

It is the goal of the Graduate Student Association to ensure that the voice of the graduate students is expressed
across campus. We continuously aim to connect graduate students to the many resources offered by the
university with confidence that it will make their matriculation at Bowie State University more valuable. As a
graduate student, you are automatically a member of the Graduate Student Association and our sponsored
organizations. All that is left for you to do is, become ACTIVE! While your time here will be short, it is up to
you to leave your mark. You can be active by attending our meetings, events, and by volunteering. Your ideas
and input are always welcomed. Active Graduate Student Association members are rewarded through
professional development opportunities, sponsoring student travel to professional conferences, and networking.
As graduate students, our experiences are much different from our undergraduate peers yet we still receive
growth, knowledge, and consciousness together as an entire student body.

Bowie State University is composed of students from all different backgrounds, majors, and interests; together,
we pride ourselves in being informed and conscious individuals who aim to make our community better. As a
result, we have a diverse student body that is both passionate and vocal. Remember that “it takes a village” and
the Graduate Student Association takes pride in being your advocates.

My team and I are passionate about serving the graduate student community and we hope to meet you during
your time at Bowie State University. We look forward to being your advocates and helping you matriculate as
best we can. Our office is located on the second floor of the Student Center, in Suite 3006. However, due to the
