Cuban Dictator, Fidel Castro, 90, Dies
Fidel Castro had held on to power longer than any other living national leader except Queen Elizabeth II.
HAVANA, CUBA --- Fidel Castro, the revolutionary who brought the Cold War to the Western Hemisphere in 1959 and then defied the United States for nearly half a century as Cuba’s maximum leader, died on Friday. He was 90.
Cuban state television an- nounced the death but gave no other details.
In declining health for many years, Mr. Castro had orches- trated what he hoped would be the continuation of his Com- munist revolution, stepping aside in 2006 when he became seriously ill. His younger brother, and closet confidante, Raul, now 85, became presi- dent after Mr. Castro formally resigned as president. Raul Castro has ruled Cuba since then, although he has told the Cuban people he intends to re- sign in 2018.

After Not Being Able To
Save Baby During Protest
BALTIMORE, MD -- A hero police officer attempted to save a one-month-old baby who died while her mom was protesting against a police shooting.
Baltimore Major Richard Gibson was on patrol near where the protest was being held about 3 p.m. on Saturday in the wake of the shooting of a man armed with two knives on Friday.
During the protest, which was attended by about 30 peo- ple, a group of people told Major Gibson a one-month- old girl had stopped breathing and was bleeding from the nose.
Gibson then rushed into the pizza shop and performed CPR on the youngster in a des- perate attempt to bring her back to life.
The mother, who was one of the protesters, had taken her young daughter inside to feed her, police said in a statement.
A Facebook Live video

Gibson appeared to be holding back tears, and had blood on his mouth.
CHANDLER, AR---- An Ari- zona grandmother who thought she was texting one of her grandchildren, but it turned out to be a random stranger, did what she said she would do.. .. she invited the teen to Thanksgiving dinner.
Wanda Dench texted 17- year-old Jamal Hinton of Chandler, Ariz., and when he asked who was texting him, she simply replied back “Your grandma”. Jamal then asked for a photo of the mysterious grandmother to verify, and once he saw the pic, he replied back with his own picture and wrote “You not my grandma”.
But that didn’t stop Dench from extending Jamal an in- vite to Thanksgiving dinner. And while people across the country were celebrating Thanksgiving with family on Thursday, Jamal had a seat at Dench’s table.
“She is a very sweet lady,” Jamal said. “She told me her husband was a veteran and she always invited his friends over for dinner, so she’s used to having a lot of people over. I just got a vibe from her that made me feel at home.”
Dench says the experience has given her faith in human- ity, and she plans on keeping in touch with Jamal.
