   Ronald Jones Looks
Ready As Training
Camp Is Less Than
Two Weeks Away
If the Tampa Bay Bucca- neers offense is really going to take off under Bruce Ari- ans, a key component to that will be last year’s second- round pick Ronald Jones.
As a rookie in 2018, Jones was a huge disap- pointment for a team who had high hopes for the former USC Trojan. Now, some of the disappointment stemmed from poor usage by the old staff and not playing to Jones strengths, but there is some blame to go around that lands on his shoulders di- rectly.
We heard several times that he wasn’t studying the playbook as much as he should have been and as a re- sult his confidence wasn’t where it needed to be during his rookie season.
RONALD JONES
It seems a key to turning things around for Jones has been adjusting his habits off the field and getting his body to fit into that NFL mold.
The Buccaneers have him listed at 208 pounds on the team website, but a photo of Jones surfaced on twitter today and apparently he is a lot heavier than that.
  Security Guard Will
Press Charges
Against Ezekiel Elliott
The security guard who was allegedly assaulted by Ezekiel Elliott will press charges against the Dallas Cowboys running back.
Kyle Johnson was al- legedly bumped and shoved over a metal railing by El- liott during an incident in Las Vegas in May.
The guard said he origi- nally sought an apology and would have been satisfied with that. He claims he changed his mind after El- liott escaped punishment from the NFL. He also deemed Elliott’s apology to be insincere.
“To not have anything happen to him, the NFL is ba- sically saying it’s okay to go to Vegas, get obliterated and
EZEKIEL ELLIOTT
shove people over fences,” Johnson told Enzo Marino of FOX 5 Las Vegas.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police will investigate the guard’s claims. If they deem there is enough evidence to charge Elliott, the Cowboys running back could be charged with battery.

  PATRICK MAHOMES
Patrick Mahomes
laughed off some ridiculous criticism from Colin Cowherd.
Mahomes received atten- tion on Friday for throwing a ball out of Arrowhead Sta- dium.
It was a cool display of physical talent. Of course, Cowherd had to come along and ruin the moment by draw- ing a Tom Brady compari- son.
Cowherd’s jab had no place here, but that’s what he does best. At least Mahomes and his 50-touchdown MVP season didn’t let it bother him.
Raiders’ Richie Incognito Gets Two-Game Suspension
RICHIE INCOGNITO
Richie Incognito will have to wait a couple weeks to make his return to the NFL.
The NFL suspended In- cognito on Friday for the first two weeks of the 2019 season. According to Tom Pelissero of NFL.com, the suspension is the result of an arrest at a fu- neral home last August.
Incognito was arrested after allegedly threatening fu- neral employees while making arrangements following the death of his father. The con- troversial guard signed with Oakland in May after sitting out the 2018 season.
Miami Dolphins assistant and quarterbacks coach Jim Caldwell was a big addition to the team’s staff this offsea- son, but he’s now stepping away for health reasons.
Caldwell will take a leave of absence due to un- specified “medical complica- tions” and will spend the 2019 season serving as a con- sultant to the Dolphins and head coach Brian Flores.

 David Ortiz Is ‘In Good
Spirits’ As He Continues
To Recover After
Undergoing Third Surgery
David Ortiz is continu- ing to recover after undergo- ing a third surgery this week, one month after the retired Boston Red Sox player was shot in the Dominican Repub-
lic. “Earlier this week, David underwent a third surgery for complications resulting from his gunshot wound,” the base- ball legend’s wife, Tiffany said in a statement released by the Red Sox on Thursday.
The surgery occurred at Massachusetts General, where Ortiz, 43, was airlifted to following the shooting.
“David is recovering and is in good spirits,” Tiffany shared. “We continue to be in- credibly appreciative of the kindness and compassion shown to David and to our entire family during this diffi- cult time.”
The update came almost three weeks after Tiffany re- vealed that Ortiz had been

moved out of the hospital’s in- tensive care unit.
The MLB All-Star was shot in the back at a nightclub in his hometown in the Domini- can Republic on June 9. The bullet, which went straight through his stomach, caused damage to his intestines and liver.
Although it was initially believed that Ortiz had been shot during a burglary at- tempt, prosecutors now be- lieve he was not the intended target of the shooting.
