  Adaptation Of ‘One
Night In Miami’
Oscar-winning actress Regina King is set to direct One Night in Miami, based on the debut play from Kemp Powers, who has adapted it for the screen.
Set on the night of February 25, 1964, the story follows a young Cassius Clay as he emerges from the Miami Beach Convention Center as the World Heavyweight Box- ing Champion. Against all odds, he’s defeated Sonny Liston and shocked the world of boxing. While crowds of people swarm Miami Beach’s hotspots to celebrate the match, Clay — unable to stay on the island because of Jim Crow-era segregation laws — spends the night at the Hamp- ton House Motel in Miami’s Overtown neighborhood cele-

Storm Reid To Star In 'The Suicide Squad' Sequel
Willie D recently sat down with VladTV to discuss a myriad of topics, including why he didn’t attend Bush- wick Bill’s funeral. The OG member of the Geto Boys passed away last month after being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in Febru- ary.
During the conversation, Willie insists they didn’t like each other and felt showing up would’ve been an inau-
thentic gesture.
“When somebody has a fu-
neral man, it’s like this — I feel like it’s disingenuous for somebody to come to your fu- neral who you don’t like,” he explains. “Bill didn’t like me. I ain’t like Bill, you know what I’m saying? That’s the truth. This ain’t no phony s*&t. I know that everybody want to do some politically correct s*&t and all that, but that’s the truth, bro.

Storm Reid is in major talks to star in James Gunn's DC Comics film, The Suicide Squad. She joins a cast that includes Margot Rob- bie, Viola Davis, Idris Elba and Joel Kinnaman. Gunn is the writer and the di- rector.
The news was first re- ported by The Wrap on Wednesday before making its rounds through the trades. It is said that she would play the daughter of Idris Elba's character. Elba was first said to be replacing Will Smith's character from the first film, Deadshot, but it was later re- vealed that he would be a new character instead. Given that we don't know who Elba's character is, we have no inkling of who Reid would be playing in the film.
Plot details of the film are

Reid blasted on the scene
as the lead character in Ava DuVernay's A Wrinkle in Time. DuVernay also cast her in a supporting role on her acclaimed Netflix limited se- ries, When They See Us. Cur- rently, Reid stars in Euphoria on HBO with Zendaya.
Tupac Shakur’s breakup letter to Madonna is finally going up for auction, and someone will be paying six figures to own it. Gotta Have Rock and Roll, the company behind the auction, has set the opening bid at $100,000 and estimates the winning offer could end up at $300,000.
The bidding for Pac’s let- ter begins next Wednesday (July 17). The auction will proceed after years of legal drama involving Madonna, who was attempting to pre- vent the item from being sold.
TUPAC AND MADONNA Madonna recently lost
an appeal to block the sale. A New York State Appeals Court ruled she cannot pursue claims against Gotta Have Rock and Roll as well as her former friend and art consult- ant Darlene Lutz, who was in possession of the letter until consigning it to the aforementioned memorabilia company.
Pac’s handwritten letter to Madonna was penned in 1995. In the note, the late rap- per ended their relationship over concerns about dating a white woman and how it would affect his image.
