Middleton Alumni Celebrates 30 Years

Commissioner Accused Of Threatening Child With Gun
The George S. Middleton High School Alumni Associa- tion celebrates its 30th An- niversary with a free outdoor event Saturday, June 19, 10 a. m.to2:30p.m.onthe school’s front lawn, 4801 N. 22nd Street in Tampa.
Entertainment will be provided by popular WMNF- FM Radio Station DJ Steve “The Hit Man” Williams, who will spin Old School hits and other music. It will be a “Back in the Day Meet and Greet on the Lawn” event.

Bring your lawn chairs and your own lunch. Bottled water will be free and so will all the fun you’ll have seeing classmates and fellow Tigers! You can join the alumni asso- ciation that day and get de- tails on our upcoming golf tournament.

Last week, Polk County Sheriff's deputies arrested a Lake Wales City Commis- sioner She is accused of pointing a gun at an 11-year- old child.
According to police, on June 3, City Commissioner Kristen Fitzgerald is al- leged to have taken an 11- year-old child from his home without permission. She re- portedly drove the child to another location, where she is alleged to have asked the child if he had inappropri- ately touched another child last year. The child report- edly denied that he had com- mitted the act.

the gun and said, “I will bury you.”
Once police were notified of the incident, Ms. Fitzger-
ald was arrested and charged with one count interference with child cus- tody and one count aggra- vated assault with a deadly weapon. She was transported to the Polk County Jail, where she was being held without bond.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said, “We don't expect this kind of behavior from anyone, but especially someone in public office. She should be held to a higher standard and should be set- ting the proper example - in- stead, she displayed what not to do as a human being. Her conduct, threatening a child with a gun, is horren- dous."
