MRS. LUCY KATE BYRD-BROOKTER
A homegoing celebration for Mrs. Lucy Kate Byrd- Brookter of Tampa, who de- parted on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, will be held Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 11 a. m. at the First Baptist Church of Port Tampa, 8306 Interbay Boulevard, Tampa. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Lucy Kate Byrd- Brookter leaves to cherish loving memories: her children, Eddie Williams, III (Verna), Timothy Williams (Tammy), Lonnie Koonce (Lisa), Barbara Ann Williams, Mamie Dawson, and Carolyn Thomas- Pinkney (William); grand- children, Eddie Williams, IV, Clarence Dawson, Jr., Lashawn Autry (Paul), Alicia Beaton (Robert), Joyce Owes, Frenicia Thomas, Genoa Denson, Christopher Phelps, Jermaine Graham and Leeza Olar; great grand- children, Zjala, Isiah and Jacob Phelps, Derryl, Darius and Deliah Autry, Tyshawn Kirby, Imari, Tria and Em- manuel Beaton, Tatyana, Jo- hann, Malic Williams, Kamora, Alora, Jameria, Jer- maine, Jr., Lakendra and Khloe Graham, and Tamia and Timothy Williams, Jr.; siblings, Bishop James E. MS. MARKITA LILLIAN ESTINVIL
Ms. Markita Lillian Es- tinvil of Tampa, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 28,2015,at2p.m.atPalm River Church Of God In Christ, 1304 South 58th Street, with Elder Willie L. Fowler, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ms. Markita Estinvil was a native of Tampa, and a resi- dent for 20 years. She at- tended Blake High School and Hillsborough Commu- nity College. She often vis- ited the family church, Palm River C.O.G.I.C. She has been employed as a manager at McDonald’s, a cashier at Kmart and a manager at Belk’s Department store in Spartanburg, South Car- olina.
Markita loved shopping on a budget, doing extreme makeovers, jamming hair- styles, being a fashionista; and a loving mother and friend.
Ms. Estinvil was a very vi- brant, outgoing, hard-work- ing young lady who will be truly missed.
She leaves to cherish her memory: mother, Chris Fos- ter; son, Johnathan Kaiden Jameer Jackson; dedicated guardian, Alishia Humphrey (Dareaus Baker); father, Edner Estinvil (Marjorie); sisters, Kawanda Foster and Admanielle Estinvil; broth- ers, Kaneko Streets, Joham Estinvil and Xyavion Williams; grandparents, Lil- lie Mills (Ollie Mills, de- ceased), dedicated aunt, Janet Humphrey (Willie); nephews, Michael, Trequan and Manhattan; nieces, Quinyah and Kamika; like a sister Diamonique Williams, Mahkeeba Wilson and Al- lenesha Davis; and a host of other relatives and friends.

MR. RODERICK S. STEWART FAISON
Mr. Roderick S. Stewart Faison of 9601 Awl Court, Hudson FL, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 2 p. m. at Apos- tolic Church of Jesus, 2708 East Osborne Avenue, Tampa, 33610, with Elder Samuel Hunt, officiating. Elder Melvin Lee will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memo- rial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Faison was a native of Tampa, and a resident of Hudson for 11⁄2 years.
He was attending Kaplan University and was earning a degree in Graphic Design. In the past, he was employed in the food industry, but was re- tired.
Mr. Faison was a member of Life Encounter Church.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Annie Lee (“Nanny”) Cato.
He leaves to cherish his memory: son, DeMontario Stewart, and daughter, Stef- fannie Harris, and their mother; loving mother, Jacquelyn Stewart Pinkney (Sylvester); father, Willie G. Faison (Ethel); paternal grandmother, Mattie R. Fai- son; 5 brothers, Brian and Terrance McKennon, Gre- gory Robinson, Walter Long and Tyre Faison; sister, Shonika Faison; 3 stepbroth- ers, Kendall Pinkney, Nakia Mobley and Richmond Mark; stepsister, LaShondra Sims; 6 uncles, Curtis Stewart (Debra), Vernon Williams (Angela), Eugene Williams (friend), David Faison (Dot), Archie Faison (Rose), and Michael Faison (Misty); 2 aunts, Shirley Faison and Re- genia W. Battles (Reginald); great aunt, Inez Sample; 2 great uncles, Benjamin Stew- art and Jack Morris (Bar- bara); godmother, Sis. K. MR. OSCAR FOLKS, JR.
Funeral service for Mr. Oscar Folks, Jr. who de- parted this earthly life on March 16, 2015, will be held at 2 p. m. on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at The Center for Manifestation, 3102 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, Apostle Mark Jones, pastor, with Rev. Anita Davis Williams, Pastor of Holsey Temple CME Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Ceme- tery.
Mr. Oscar Folks, Jr. was born September 19, 1953, in Tampa, to the late Oscar Folks, Sr. and Eloise Folks- Stevens. Oscar was the fifth of seven children.
In his early years, he at- tended public schools, the former Howard W. Blake and graduated from Tampa Bay Vo-Tech High School, where he obtained a full foot- ball scholarship to Bethune- Cookman University (for- merly B-CC). After complet- ing his college career, Oscar returned to Tampa with in- ternship position with All- state Insurance and later accepted a position in Winter Haven, FL, with State Farm Insurance in the Claims field. During this period of time Oscar met Julia Jackson and they were married in Tampa, FL, on May 14, 1977.
In June, 1981, Oscar and Julia opened the first African American – State Farm In- surance Agency in this area.
It opened doors for many fu- ture opportunities for other minorities. His philosophy has always been that if you take the challenge, the suc- cess is yours.
In December, 1982, they had a baby boy: Oscar Folks, III. Oscar was a member of Holsey Temple CME Church. He also was a member the Pi Iota Chapter – Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. since May, 1982.
Oscar has sponsored and served on numerous boards throughout the community including News in Education, Adopt a School, USF, Out- standing Professional Achievement, Public Service for PIC Board, Sickle Cell and many more services during the years.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
Oscar leaves to cherish precious memories of him with: his wife, Julia J. Folks; son, Oscar Folks, III (Sha’na); grandchild, (Oscar, IV); 2 sisters, Margaret Sampson (Ishmel), and Catherine Rodriguez; 3 brothers, JW Folks (Kim), Thomas Folks and Willie Folks; 9 nieces, Marida, Dede, Kechia, Sheena, Mar- garet, Kay, Tametha, Derika and Willamina; 4 nephews, Ishmel, Jr., Valo, Pedro and Willie; a host of grand nieces, nephews and cousins; uncle, Melvin Burkes (Pearl); aunt, Willie Bell Golden; mother- in-law, Lillian Jackson; long- time special friends, Dr. Reginald and Mendee Ligon, Rev. Otis Evans, the Wash- ington family, the Bush fam- ily, the Riles family, and the Buie family; and other sor- rowing relatives and friends.
There will be a viewing on Friday, March 27, 2015, from 5-9 p. m. with the family re- ceiving friends in the chapel from 7-8 p. m., followed by Omega Fraternal Rites.
Friends are asked to as- semble at the church on Sat- urday at approximately 1:45 p. m. for the service.
