MR. REGINALD ‘ALFONSO’ POWELL
Mr. Reginald “Alfonso” Powell, aka, “Fonza”, 63, passed away on Wednes- day, December 14, 2016.
Reginald Powell was born on July 29, 1953 to the late Henry and Josephine Powell in Tampa, Florida. He was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a gradu- ate of H. B. Plant High School, Class of 1971. Reginald furthered his ed- ucation at the Polk Jr. Col- lege in Winter Haven, Florida for two years. He moved to New York City where he completed stud- ies and training at the RCA School of Electron- ics. Reginald’s health began to fail him back in October of 2009. He fought a good fight, ran a good race and crossed his finish line on December 14, 2016.
He is survived by: a very devoted sister, Sandra Powell Flowers; nephew, Eric; niece, Traci; cousins, Velma and Jackie; sisters- in-law, Theresa Powell and Mariea Powell; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends.
The immediate family will have a memorial cele- brating his life at a later date.

WILLIE CHARLES WHITE
Mr. Willie Charles White, “Jack White” of Tampa, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 23, at 11 a. m. at Springhill Missionary Bap- tist Church, 8119 E. MLK Jr. Blvd., with Pastor Reverend Eugene Garnett, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Willie Charles White was born February 8, 1939 in Pellham, Georgia and relo- cated to Tampa at the age of 2. He was raised in Sulphur Springs, attended the public schools of Hillsborough County, and was a graduate from Middleton High School, Class of 1957. He was employed at the Univer- sity of South Florida and re- tired from the Department of Juvenile Justice. He was a lifelong member of Springhill M. B. Church where he served faithfully until his health deterio- rated.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Barbara White; mother, Lucy Kate White; and father, Jack Willie White.
Mr. White leaves to cher- ish his fond memories with: his devoted daughters, Tonya Spann (Felix) and Rhonda Eady of Tampa; son, Gerald White (Patricia) of Odessa; 5 granddaugh- ters, Daisha, Kieana, and Kiera Spann, Fredricka Williams and Courtney Gor- don, all of Tampa; 2 grand- sons, Fredrick Jones (Yarkema) and Kenny Eady; 3 great-granddaughters, Sharmel Bivens, Fredriana Jones, Deniyah Mack; 4 great-grandsons, Fredrick Jones III, Tramel Bivens, Major Williams and Anto- nio Mack; sister-in-law, De- loris Swain; cousins, Betty Green, Jackie White, John White (Janie), Harriet White, Francis White and many other loving family members; special friends, Dorothy Graddy, Eddie B. Williams, Norman Williams, Ben Walker, Billy Graham and the Sulphur Springs Community.

MRS. VADIE LEE YOUNG
Mrs. Vadie Lee Young, 84, was called home to be with the Lord on Decem- ber 15, 2016. Her home- going service will be held Wednesday, December 21,2016at11a.m.at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 3410 E. Wilder Avenue, Tampa, FL, 33610.
Mrs. Vadie Lee Young was born to Samuel Law and Ora Lee Smith. She was a graduate of Don Thompson High School, and an employee of the Hillsborough County School District for 23 years. She was married to the late Reverend Calvin Clarence Young for 33 years.
She was preceded in the Holy Journey by: sons, Samuel Owens and Calvin Timothy Young, and by daughter, Linda Young.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory: a son, Robert Young, Sr.; grandchildren, Sherece Owens, Calvin Timothy Young, Jr. and wife Heidi, Antwan Brown, Katrina Falls, Lakeisha Kinsey, Natasha Young, Darrin Donley, Robert Young, Robin Young, and Alonda Reed; a host of great-grandchildren, cousins, and other fam- ily, as well as a multitude of friends.

ELIJAH BAILEY, JR.
A homegoing celebra- tion will be held for Eli- jah Bailey, Jr. on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at 2 p. m. at Peace Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, located at 2607 East 24th Avenue, Tampa, Florida, 33605 preceded by a wake on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 6 p. m. until 7:30 p. m. at the same venue.
Elijah Bailey, Jr. was born in Columbia, South Carolina on November 29, 1944. He attended C. A. Johnson High School in Columbia, South Car- olina and received his Bachelor’s of Sociology Degree from John C. Smith University in Char- lotte, North Carolina.
As a young man in the army, he served four years in the Vietnam War and received an honor- able discharge. He was employed as a life coach for the State of Florida, after which he retired. Elijah enjoyed college football, fancy cars, close friends, and being dressed to the nines. He was actively involved in mentoring well-honed skills in dressing for suc- cess. He was known as a dedicated member of the Friday for Life Club of Greater Tampa Bay.
He leaves to mourn: wife, Debra D. Ellis of Or- lando, Florida; a son, Warren Maurice Bolden of Washington, District of Columbia; and a cher- ished brother-in-law, LiVorno Williams of Spartanburg, South Car- olina; a host of caring rel- atives, and devoted friends.
Elijah is preceded in death by: his parents, Eli- jah Bailey, Sr. and wife, Lucille English Bailey; a sister; and was previ- ously joined in a loving marriage to deceased wife, Felicia Elaine Williams Bailey.
In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting me- morial donations which may be received by Debra Ellis or designee at Peace Progressive.
Crime
16-Year-Old Accused Of Sexual Battery At School
ZARIF MINGO
The Pinellas County Sher- iff’s Office arrested a 16-year- old student and charged him with committing sexual bat- tery. Police said the incident took place on December 7th.
According to police, the 14- year-old victim told police the incident took place at Leal- man Innovation Academy, 4900 28th Street, North, in St. Petersburg.
The investigation began on the same day it reportedly took place.
According to the victim, at approximately 11:30 a.m., she encountered Zarif Mingo in the hallway. Mingo report- edly asked the girl to go into an unoccupied classroom with him, but she refused.
Mingo, who is also a stu- dent at the school, allegedly used physical force to pull the girl into the classroom, where he committed sexual battery against her.
Detectives interviewed Mingo on Monday and charged him with one count of sexual battery. He was transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center without incident, police said.
