One Dead, Second Critical In Separate Hit And Run Incidents
Suspect Sought For Aggravated Battery

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in locating Isaac W. Nguyen, who has an outstand- ing warrant for aggravated bat- tery.

‘Operation Hydro Hustlers’ Drug Investigation Lands 22 In Jail

Tampa Police were busy Saturday investigating a pair of hit-and-run accidents that left one man dead and another with life threatening injuries.
On Saturday night, police said Freddy Isaac White, 58, was riding his bicycle on 28th Avenue near Republica DeCubawhenhewashitbya vehicle. White died from his injuries, police are still con- ducting an investigation to see if anyone witnessed the inci- dent.
Later that night, officers re- sponded to a call from a citizen at Florida Avenue and Os- borne requesting to meet with them regarding a suspect in the hit-and-run of a bicyclist that occurred Saturday at 30th Avenue and 50th Street.
The victim was identified as
Shakeem Lee Crawford,
22, and he is hospitalized with life threatening injuries.
When officers arrived, they made contact with Joseph

FREDDY ISAAC WHITE .....died from his injuries.
Anthony Ragsdale, 56, and found a vehicle matching the description provided by a wit- ness to the crash. It had da- mage to the roof and windshield.
Ragsdale refused to talk without his attorney and he was charged with leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury.
Young Man
A statewide investigation came to an end with the arrests of 22 people. Police also seized cash, marijuana, and several vehicles.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began in March 2015. During the inves- tigation, 10 grow houses, 8 of which were in Hillsborough County were discovered.
Entitled “Operation Hydro Hustlers,” the investigation in- volved the Hillsborough County, Citrus County, Her- nando County, Pasco County, Polk County and Suwannee County Sheriff’s Offices. As a result of the investigation, po- lice identified a Cuban drug trafficking organization, led by Julio Alvarez, consisting of in- dividuals who have been culti- vating and harvesting marijuana in several grow houses all around Hillsborough County and the surrounding counties of Citrus, Hernando, Pasco, Polk, and Suwannee, police said in a press release.
Police have arrested: Julio Alvarez, Yunier Calero, Paver Alvarez Cuellar, Taira Rodriguez Morales, Jose Chang Leon, Alaim Chang Garcia; and Lister Castro Albelo.
Elido Rodriguez, Jorge Gutierrez Echeverria, Hugo Solar Pomares, Manuel Suardi, Yosveidy Rodriguez, Yosaris Perez Vargas, Yunior Vicideo, Jose Perez Echemendia, Julio Figueroa Molina, Yusleidys Perez, and Jesus
Game Reyes were also ar- rested.
Juan Espinosa Jimenez
was arrested in Citrus County; Ariel Delgado was arrested in Suwannee County; and Jorge Tellez and Madeline Rosa were arrested in Polk County.
Police have issued arrest war- rants for Raul Delgado Romero, Jorge Rivero Perez, Angel Espineira Vazquez, Julio Viamonte Pino, and Elcides Porcegue. When taken into custody, they will face racket- eering and Racketeering con- spiracy charges, police said.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office dismantled grow houses on March 8 and March 9, 2016, at the following locations: 19221 Gunn High- way; 19224 Gunn Highway; 13312 Pulitzer Avenue; 7222 North Hubert Avenue; 14512 Knoll Ridge Drive; 207 Belfort Place; 149 Clarion Drive; and 3820 Cypress Meadow Road.
During the execution of 15 search warrants, 12 of which were in Hillsborough County, investigators seized 591 mari- juana plants that had a com- bined weight of 872 pounds; and 46.67 pounds of marijuana that was packaged and processed, with a value of $2.3 million.
They also seized $126,061 in cash; 21 cars, 2 trailers, 1 boat, and 2 zero turn mowers (esti- mated value over $400,000). The estimated loss in electric- ity to TECO is $35,000, police said.
Man Charged With Having Sex With 15-Year-Old
St. Petersburg Police report that on Saturday at 3:50 p.m., a vehicle driven by Tavarious DNard Lane, 21, was travel- ing east on 15th Avenue, South approaching 25th Street, South at a high rate of speed.
Police said Lane lost control of the vehicle and slid off the roadway. The vehicle struck a curb and overturned several times.
Lane was not wearing a seat- belt, and was ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle continued rolling several times into the yard of a residence where it struck two parked cars.
Lane was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
Couple Arrested After Pursuit, Report Of Gunshots
According to the Hillsbo- rough County Sheriff’s Office, on October 22, 2015, 28-year- old Jafar Rashad Smith al- legedly had sex with a 15-year-old girl.
Detectives said she was able to identify him from a photo- graph on Instagram, and then her mother pulled up his booking photo from a website where she was able to identify him and get his true age.
The victim later discovered she was pregnant and Smith was the only person she had sex with.
On March 10, 2016, Smith reportedly admitted to having sex with the victim during a controlled phone call.
Smith is on probation and was on probation at the time of the offense. He is on super- vised probation for a previous unrelated case of aggravated

battery on a pregnant female. On March 4, 2009, Smith was adjudicated as a Florida Regis- tered Sexual Offender for lewd, lascivious, battery with a victim 12-to-15 years old.
Smith is currently being held without bond in the Ori- ent Road Jail.

Tampa Police reported that a couple was arrested early Fri- day after a pursuit that began with a report of gunshots fired.
According to arrest reports, Alex Santos Pinet, 24, and Solymar Sanchez, 25, were arrested after a pursuit.
The report says officers re- ported hearing several gun- shots about 3 a.m. on East Yukon near Rowlette Park, and saw a black car without lights. The car fled when an of- ficer tried to make a traffic stop, and a pursuit was initi- ated. A third suspect managed to get out of the car during the

pursuit, and is still being sought.
At 3:30 a.m., officers used a PIT maneuver to stop the car near Netpark, 5701 East Hills- borough.
Pinet was charged with ag- gravated fleeing and eluding, driving without a valid license, possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana, posses- sion of marijuana with intent to sell, and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond has been set at $10,750.
Sanchez was charged with aggravated fleeing to elude and her bail is set at $7,500.
