MRS. BIRDIE WILLIAMS UNDERWOOD
A Private Homegoing Catholic Service Celebration for Mrs. Birdie Eileen Williams Underwood of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Wednes- day, March 25, 2020, will be held Saturday, April 18th, 11 a. m., at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1203 N. Nebraska Ave., Father Theobald Weria, officiating. The entombment will be held in Garden of Mem- ories Cemetery, Mausoleum.
Birdie Williams Under- wood passed away unexpect- edly Wednesday, March 25, 2020. She was born in Tampa, Florida on December 9, 1948. She was the fourth child of Lil- lian Bryant Williams Brown and the late Howard Williams. Birdie was a graduate of the Middleton High School, Class of 1966. She was a proud grad- uate of the great Bethune- Cookman University, where she received a Bachelor of Sci- ence Degree in Elementary Ed- ucation. She also received a Master of Education Degree from the University of Tampa. Birdie retired as an educator from the School District of Hillsborough County after serving 40 years of teaching at J. R. Brooker Elementary School in Brandon, Florida.
Because she loved children and made a difference in their
lives, she returned to the field of education as a part-time, read- ing tutor until her demise.
Birdie was a member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. She was an active member of Gamma Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, In- corporated, where she received several awards and accolades, most notably, Soror of the Year. She served on the Hospitality Committee, CAP Committee, and Arts and Culture Committee for many years. When she was not participating in community service projects for her Sorority, you found her actively support- ing Wildcat activities as a mem- ber of the Hillsborough Alumni Chapter of Bethune-Cookman University. Birdie loved life and will truly be missed by many.
She is survived by: her mother, Lillian Bryant Williams Brown; sister, Betoria Williams Watson; niece, Raquel Lillian Watson Hunter; great-niece, Carii Amaya Hunter; great- nephew, Carter Amari Hunter; aunt, Leila Bryant Aldridge; godsisters, Mildred Harvey, Car- rie Jackson, Barbara Jennings Murphy, and Inez Joseph; god- brother, Keith Murphy; devoted friends, Rheutelia Bradford, Blanche Turner, and Carolyn Russ; St. Peter Claver Catholic Church family; Gamma Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated; Hillsborough County Alumni Chapter of Bethune-Cookman University; Middleton High School Class of 1966; a host of sorrowing relatives and friends.

A Private Homegoing Cele- bration for Ms. Valerie Yvette Chapman, 59, who passed away on April 3, 2020, will be held on Saturday, April 18, at 1 p. m., at Harmon Funeral Home Chapel, 5002 N. 40th Street, Pastor Le- land Johnson, officiating. Va- lerie’s final resting place will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Park.
Valerie was the second of five children of Arthur and Eliz- abeth Hall.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arnold Chapman, Sr., and grandmother, Pearl Chapman.
Valerie was a lifetime resi- dent of Tampa, where she at- tended Hillsborough County public schools. Valerie gradu- ated with the King High School Class of 1978. Valerie briefly at- tended Hillsborough Commu- nity College.
Valerie was a former mem- ber of the Rainbow Church of God in Christ, under the leader- ship of the late Elder Green.
Valerie was employed by the University of South Florida, where she retired. Valerie loved life, family, music, cooking and she always made sure everyone had a special Christmas. Val, as she was affectionately known, always had a smile for everyone.
She leaves precious memo- ries with: her parents, Arthur and Elizabeth Hall; sisters, Marie Booker, Karla Atkins (Don), Sherise Hall, all of Tampa; brother, Arnold Chap- man, Jr., Lakeland, FL; aunts, Ethel Brown (Gary), Marilyn Washington, Brenda Watson, of Lakeland, FL, Naomi Dailey (Eddie) of Rochester, NY, Annie Gordon, Ethel Hall of Tampa, Sherri Hall of Atlanta, GA, Tina Hall, Lois Hall of Ft. MR. TOMMY LEE BAKER, SR.
Mr. Tommy Lee Baker, Sr., of Apollo Beach, Florida, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2020. Due to the current restrictions from the CDC, a private service will be held at a later date. The visitation will be held Saturday, April18,from10a.m.to2p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue. We are asking family and friends to pay their respects and to follow the CDC guidelines.
Mr. Tommy Lee Baker, Sr., was born to Katie Mae Green and James Williams in Lake- land, Florida, and moved to Tampa, Florida, at an early age. He attended local schools in the Hillsborough County area. He was an employee of the Home Depot prior to his demise.
Tommy was a die-hard Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan. He was also a huge fan of Tom Brady with the New England Pa- triots. He looked forward to at- tending his first game with his favorite player joining his fa- vorite team this year.
Tommy was preceded in death by: his mother, Katie Mae Williams; brothers, George Baker, Jr., James “JD” Baker, and Oscar Baker; sisters, Beulah Baker, Blanchie Baker, Betty Baker, and Thurthia Baker; un-
