Ocasio-Cortez Demands ‘Answers' After Epstein Found Dead In Jail Cell
Trump Promotes Epstein-Clintons
New York Rep. Alexan- dria Ocasio-Cortez (D) led public calls Saturday demand- ing answers after disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in his Manhat- tan jail cell due to an apparent suicide.
“We need answers. Lots of them,” Ocasio-Cortez, a member of the House Over- sight and Reform Committee, tweeted.
Multiple media outlets re- ported Saturday that Ep- stein's body was discovered in his jail cell about 7:30 a.m. at the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC).
Many immediately began questioning the details sur- rounding his death after Ep- stein was reportedly put on suicide watch in late July fol- lowing a possible suicide at-

Epstein was in prison
awaiting trial over charges of sex trafficking minors, to which he had pleaded not guilty.
His suicide comes a day after testimony was released from a woman who said she was one of his victims that un- veiled the inner workings of his alleged operation.
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), who sits on the Judiciary Com- mittee, called on the panel's chairman Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) to prioritize investigating the circum- stances around Epstein’s death over other probes being carried out by the committee.

Berkeley Heights, New Jer- sey - President Donald Trump on Saturday pro- moted a conspiracy theory linking the Clinton family to the death of multimillionaire and accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, the latest instance of Trump propagat- ing baseless conspiracy theo- ries and falsehoods.
Trump shared a tweet and video from conservative co- median Terrence Williams that claimed without evidence that former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton -- Trump's 2016 presidential election rival -- were responsi- ble for Epstein's death. The Federal Bureau of Prisons and Attorney General Bill Barr said Epstein died in an "ap- parent suicide" while in fed- eral custody.
As a result of Trump's retweet, the video received more than 3 million views on Twitter by Sunday morning -- more than triple Williams' most recent videos. Both Trump and Bill Clinton were friendly with Epstein in previous decades, but Trump

seized on the conspiracy the- ory Saturday in his latest dig at the Clintons. The tweet also falsely claimed that Ep- stein died while on suicide watch, even though Epstein had been taken off of suicide watch before his death.
Angel Ureña, a spokes- man for the former president, called the conspiracy theory "ridiculous, and of course not true."
"And Donald Trump knows it," Ureña tweeted. CNN has also reached out to a spokesperson for Hillary Clinton.
Harris Says Trump Is Waging A 'Campaign Of Terror' Against Minority Communities
WASHINGTON — Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., accused the Trump adminis- tration of waging a "campaign of terror" against minority communities in America, pointing specifically to the re- cent Mississippi food process- ing plant raids that picked up 680 suspected undocu- mented workers.
Noting that the raids last week arrested predominately Latino workers, the Demo- cratic presidential hopeful said she believes Hispanics feel targeted in America. In an interview with "Meet the Press," Harris also ques- tioned why the raids occurred so close to last weekend's mass shooting in El Paso, Texas, the largest targeted at- tack on Latinos in modern American history.
"We must point out and never condone anyone who uses their power in a way that fans it. But the reality is that these are forms of hate that are not new to our country, which have in the history of our country taken lethal pro-

portion, and, still today, take on lethal proportion," she said.
"This administration has directed DHS to conduct these raids as part of what I believe is this administra- tion's campaign of terror, which is to make whole popu- lations of people afraid to go to work," Harris said. "Chil- dren are afraid to go to school for fear that when they come home, their parents won’t be there.”
The raids hit several work sites in Mississippi, with im- migration officials hailing it as the "largest single-state en- forcement action in [the] na- tion's history."
Community leaders and im- migration advocates have criticized the administration's handling of the raid, pointing to the effects it will have on children whose parents were apprehended and to lack of criminal actions against the employers specifically.
Jeffrey Epstein and a friend sent an underage girl to have sex with former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, former U. S. Senator George Mitchell and asset manager Glenn Dubin, she testified in court documents that were made public for the first time Fri- day -- allegations the three deny.
Virginia Giuffre, now an adult, says she was also sent to modeling executive Jean Luc Brunel and the
late MIT scientist Marvin Minsky, according to parts of a 2016 deposition she gave. The testimony by Giuf- fre, who claims she was a “sex slave” for Epstein from 2000 to 2002, expands on her previous allegations, in court filings and tabloids, that she was forced to have sex with the U. K.’s Prince Andrew and Harvard Uni- versity law professor Alan Dershowitz. Both men have strenuously denied those al- legations.
