Crime Police Seek To Identify Person Of Interest In Murder
Several Arrested After Blocking Busy Intersection

On June 29th, at approxi- mately 12:58 a.m., officers were in the area of Klondyke and N. 14th Street, when they heard several gunshots. The officers responded to the area and located Michael John Steiner, II, who was suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police learned that Steiner was shot while at 14th Street and Waters Av- enue.
Emergency first aid was administered at the scene, but Steiner died as a result of his injuries.
A nearby surveillance video captured Steiner
walking with a Black man minutes before his death. Detectives are attempting to identify and locate that per- son of interest.

The following people were taken into custody: Jkhari Wilson, Chukwudi Uche, Jamie Bullock, Cierra Bates, Rebecca Gibbs, Jordan Wright, and Ahmed Osman.
The charges range from battery on a law enforcement officer to violating a city ordi- nance.
Nia Burton and Quin- ton Lore were given notices to appear on moving viola- tions.

Several people who were participating in a planned protest were arrested.
The protesters gathered in the parking lot of Walmart, 1505 N. Dale Mabry High- way.
According to Tampa Po- lice, the protesters began walking toward the intersec- tion of N. Dale Mabry High- way and Spruce Street.
Shortly before 12:30 in the afternoon, about 40 par- ticipants were on foot and several others in vehicles. Their actions immediately caused the flow of traffic to stop in both directions. The protesters then erected a large plywood sign while blocking the intersection.
Police received several calls reporting the blockage of the intersection. Police is- sued a dispersal message at 12:56 p.m. The participants are alleged to have refused to move. Police then issued two additional orders for the pro- testers to clear the intersec- tion.
Several additional orders to disperse to the group of more than 100 protesters. Shortly before 1:30 p.m., po-
lice identi- fied the organizers and lead- ers of the protest and took them into custody.

 A 48-year-old high school coach was arrested Tuesday and charged with sexual mis- conduct. He is alleged to have had a sexual relationship with a former student.
Reginald Lawrence is a Student Success Coach at Tampa Bay Technical High School. He is also listed as the Head Coach of the school’s Varsity Girls’ Basketball Team.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place in 2016 when the victim was a student at the school. She has since graduated.
Detectives said Lawrence is alleged to have had unlawful sexual activity with a minor on 6 different occasions. The incidents re- portedly took place at his res- idence.

Detectives with the Tampa Police Department are cur- rently investigating a shooting that left three people injured. It took place last Wednesday, around 9:45 p.m.
According to police, offi- cers were dispatched to the 3500 block of N. 22nd Street. When they arrived, they re- ceived another call of a shoot- ing in the area.
Officers discovered three victims suffering from gun- shots. One victim, a 40-year- old man, had a gunshot wound to the leg. Additionally, a 20- year-old man suffered a gun- shot to the arm.
The third victim, a 28-year- old man, later arrived at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He also had a gunshot to the arm.
Police said bullets also struck a nearby house, but no one inside was injured. The in- vestigation is continuing.

detectives developed proba- ble cause and issued a war- rant for his arrest. Lawrence was arrested and transported to the Hillsbor- ough County Jail.
