Rickey Smiley Breaks Down As He Reveals His Daughter Was Shot Three Times In Houston
Frederick Douglass Statue Torn Down On Anniversary Of Great Speech
On the same weekend in which famed abolitionist Frederick Douglass 168 years ago delivered one of his most historically reso- nant speeches, a statue of Douglass was toppled from its base and left near the Genesee River gorge.
Located in Maplewood Park, the statue "had been placed over the fence to the gorge and was leaning against the fence" on the river side, according to a statement from Rochester police. The statue was left about 50 feet from its pedestal.
This photo provided by WROC-TV shows the remnants of a Frederick Douglass statue ripped from its base at a park in Rochester, New York Sunday.
The base and lower part of the statue was damaged, as
was a finger on the statue's left hand.
RICKEY SMILEY AND HIS DAUGHTER AARYN
Comedian and radio host Ricky Smiley put his "real" and "raw" emotions out there for all to see on Monday, as he revealed his 19-year-old daughter Aaryn was shot three times on Sunday evening.
The host announced the news on his radio show Mon- day, saying she was in the hospital after being caught in the crossfire of a shootout in Houston on her way to pick up some food at Whataburger.
After saying she was "fine," Smiley said he woke up to a bunch of texts from Aaryn's mother, before trying to book a flight to see her as quickly as
possible. "My daughter could have died," he said. "She was shot with a hollow point bul- let. If that bullet would have hit her in the chest, she would have been dead. And I just hate it. I just hate it."
Aaryn posted about the incident on her Instagram Story as well, sharing a photo of a blood-soaked car seat.
"This is the most terrifying thing that has ever happened to me," she wrote. "I won't be out of the hospital for a while nor will I be able to walk for a while due to nerve dam- age."
She added that she was "thankful for all the mes- sages."
Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms Tests Positive For Coronavirus
Atlanta's mayor, Keisha Lance Bottoms, has tested positive for coronavirus, she announced Monday, saying "COVID-19 has literally hit home." Bottoms, a 50-year- old Democrat in her first- term, said she and her husband only experienced symptoms similar to seasonal allergies.
Bottoms, in an appearance on MSNBC, said the positive

test result was a "shock" and she only decided to get tested because her husband had been sleeping more than usual.
"It leaves me for a loss of words because I think it really speaks to how contagious this virus is. We've taken all the precautions that you can pos- sibly take. I have no idea when and where we were exposed," she said.
Tiffany Haddish Pregnant From Common, He's Not Thrilled
Tiffany Haddish may be having a quarantine baby. Months after self-isolating with her rumored boyfriend Common, the actress/co- median is reportedly preg- nant with her and the rapper's first child together.
According to MTO News, a very credible source tells them that the "Girls Trip" star is happy to be expecting, but her beau may not share the same feeling. He's al- legedly not trilled and a bit conflicted about it as they're still early in their relation- ship.
"Common wasn't too happy about her pregnancy, he's truly not interested in having any more children, but there is nothing he can do," the so-called insider says

Tiffany and Common have never publicly con- firmed their relationship, but back in March, the 40-year-
old funnywoman spilled that she's self-isolating with the 48-year-old musician as she showed up in DJ D-Nice's dance party on Instagram Live. "Oh s**t Common about to be put to sleep. With next Auntie move I got," she said.
