 Presenter To Take Part In International Conference

A Tampa man has been chosen to participate in an International Conference. The conference will be held in Baltimore, Maryland, June 11 --- 13, 2018.
Barney D. Morris, of Oncology Research and In- formation Exchange Net- work (ORIEN) has been selected to present at The 8th International Conference on Patient- and Family-Cen- tered Care: Promoting Health Equity and Reducing Disparities.
The three-day conference is hosted by the Institute for Patient and Family-Centered Care, headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, with leadership support from Johns Hopkins Medicine and program support from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute.

He will highlight best practices in patient-and fam- ily-centered care.
Morris was recently cho- sen as the Assistant Inspec- tor in Charge with the Miami Division. He is currently as-
signed to the Tampa Field Office of the U. S. Postal In- spection Service. He is re- sponsible for a variety of criminal investigations that includes mail theft, bank fraud, identity theft, and nar- cotics trafficking.
He is also a board mem- ber for Moffitt Cancer Cen- ter’s Prostate Cancer Advisory Round Table and a member of the national On- cology Research Information Exchange Network (ORIEN) Patient Advisory Council, where as a cancer survivor he frequently uses his public speaking skills to motivate young and old in the impor- tance of cancer preventative care.
Morris most recently was a key presenter at the an- nual Institute for Patient and Family Centered Care annual conference in New York, NY. He is also currently featured on Moffitt Cancer Center’s web page – www.Moffitt.org and across Moffitt’s other so-
cial media platforms. Morris gives back to his
community as the President of the 100 Black Men of Tampa Bay Inc. in Tampa, where he leads the efforts in 4 primary disciplines aimed at improving the lives of members of underserved and disenfranchised communi- ties. Those programmatic areas of focus are health and wellness, mentoring, educa- tion, and economic empow- erment.
Morris is an alumnus o f the University of Georgia, University of California Riverside, Air Force Squadron Officer School and Air Force Air Command and Staff College.
He is also a decorated Air Force Major (retired) Federal Law Enforcement Agent. He is married to Mrs. Kim- berly Morris. They are the parents of 3 adult profes- sional children.
The 8th International Conference offers more than
100 plenary and concurrent sessions and over 80 posters highlighting patient- and family-centered strategies and exemplary programs dedicated to collaboration among all key stakeholders in health care industry.
Conference presenters will share the benefits of partnering with patients and families to address the tremendous challenges in health care, most impor- tantly achieving equity and reducing disparities.
Participants will come away with the knowledge and tools they need to guide their organization in creating sus- tainable partnerships with patients, families, and com- munities essential to re- designing health care and improving quality, safety, and the experience of care for all.

    State Attorney Hires Director Of
   Communications
The Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office has hired a Tampa woman as its Director of Communications. Hillsborough County State At- torney has named Ms. Es- tella Gray to serve in this capacity. She will begin her new position on Monday, May 28, 2018.
She is replacing Ms. Rena Frazier, who resigned earlier this month to pursue other in- terests. Andrew Warren is the current State Attorney.
