Dak Prescott Seeking $40M From Cowboys
DAK PRESCOTT
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is playing hard- ball over his new contract and was willing to turn down $30M, but now we know what he actu- ally wants.
Prescott is seeking $40M annually from the Cowboys, which would comfortably make him the NFL’s highest-paid quarterback in terms of annual value.

Pro Bowl Safety
For Music & Social
Darian Stewart
Justice Campaign
Safety has hardly been a harmless position for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
With a dearth of healthy op- tions at the position, the Bucs signed one-time Pro Bowler Darian Stewart on Tuesday, the team announced. Terms were not disclosed.
Stewart was a starter in the Denver Broncos defensive backfield the last four seasons - - in 2018 as a free safety and the previous three as a strong safety.
Across a nine-year career, Stewart has played 130 games with 91 starts, playing for the St. Louis Rams, Ravens and Broncos. He earned a 2016 Pro Bowl trip when he tallied 68 tackles, three interceptions and six passes defensed and he was also a starter on the Broncos' 2015 Super Bowl championship squad.
Stewart, 31, will be looked on to provide an immediate re- lief to a safety position that has been jinxed by a relentless
DARIAN STEWART string of injuries. Safeties D'-
Cota Dixon and Orion Stew- art have already been placed on injured reserve by Tampa Bay. Justin Evans, a starter last season, is on the active/physically unable to per- form list. Rookie Mike Ed- wards is out with a hamstring strain following a start against the Steelers in the preseason opener. Kentrell Brice left the Steelers game with an ankle injury, though he's still practic- ing. And on and on it has gone for Tampa Bay.
Golden Tate Loses
JAY-Z is getting into busi- ness with the National Football League. According to the New York Times, Hov’s Roc Nation has signed a deal with the NFL to aid in the league’s social jus- tice efforts and bolster its con- nections in the music industry.
Roc Nation will reportedly serve as the NFL’s “live music entertainment strategist,” which includes consulting on productions such as the Super Bowl halftime show.
JAY will also contribute to the league’s Inspire Change ini- tiative. The campaign was cre- ated after multiple players followed former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s lead by kneel- ing during the national anthem to protest racial injustice and police brutality.
“The NFL has a great big platform, and it has to be all-in- clusive,” JAY told the New

York Times. “They were willing to do some things, to make some changes, that we can do some good.”
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell added, “We don’t want people to come in and necessarily agree with us; we want people to come in and tell us what we can do better. I think that’s a core element of our relationship between the two organizations, and with JAY and I personally.”

Tate’s appeal was denied on Tuesday and his four-game ban upheld, the Giants announced.
Tony Romo Won’t Rule Out Ezekiel Elliott Sitting Out Week 1
EZEKIEL ELLIOTT
Ezekiel Elliott has not re- ported to training camp and has put word out that he will not play in 2019 without a new contract, and one person who has deep ties to the Cowboys believes there is a possibility the star running back won’t re- turn by Week 1.
Tony Romo reportedly stated he considers it a “coin flip” whether or not Elliott will report to the Cowboys for the start of the regular season. He added, however, that he expects a contract to get done.
Eric Reid Calls Out
Looking Ahead To
With Jay-Z
Preseason Week 2
Eric Reid called out the NFL on Twitter over the league’s partnership with Jay- Z.
Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports formed a partnership with the NFL on entertainment and so- cial justice matters that was announced on Tuesday. Jay-Z will help advise the NFL on music selections for some of the league’s events and work with the league on its Inspire Change initiative.
“With its global reach, the National Football League has the platform and opportunity to inspire change across the country,” Jay-Z said in a statement. “Roc Nation has shown that entertainment and enacting change are not mutu- ally exclusive ideas — instead,

NFL Over Partnership
New Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians and his staff got their first look at offensive and defensive starters in game ac- tion on Friday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now, the team looks ahead to a familiar preseason opponent in Week 2.
Bucs and Dolphins Have Extensive Preseason History
Since Tampa Bay began play in 1976, they have faced the Miami Dolphins 31 times in the preseason, including 16 consecutive seasons from 2000-2015. Of those 31 games, Miami holds a 17-14 advantage.
The most recent contest was a 26-24 Bucs win at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami during the 2018 preseason. This will mark the Dolphins first preseason trip to Raymond James Sta- dium since the 2014 season.
Expect More Of The Same From Starting Units
This week, starters are likely to see limited playing time just as they did against Pittsburgh in week 1.
During that contest, the
Bucs elected to receive and start on offense. Jameis Winston engineered an effective opening drive that was capped off by a 9-yard touchdown pass to Chris Godwin. Should Tampa Bay start fast again and score on their first drive, the starters will likely be finished. However, a 3 and out or other- wise short series could lead them back out for a second drive in an effort to gain live game reps.
Defensively, the starters will be limited to 1-2 series as well before the shuffling will start. Bruce Arians stated before the Steelers game that there is not much he needs to see from his starters. It won’t be until Week 3, the typical dress re- hearsal game, that starters will play beyond the first quarter.
ERIC REID
we unify them. This partner- ship is an opportunity to strengthen the fabric of com- munities across America.”
Reid does not care for the partnership and said so on Twitter later that night. He stated that Colin Kaeper- nick is not part of this part- nership.
