King's Court: LeBron Dedicates Court At His Hometown School
LeBron James is triple-teamed by I Promise School students dur- ing a pickup game of basketball during the debut of the new basketball court at the school Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019 in Akron, Ohio.
Isaiah Thomas Says He Has Lost Nearly
LeBron James went back to school and back in time on Wednesday.
Joined by four high school teammates, the NBA superstar dedicated a multicolored out- door basketball court at the I Promise School, which he founded last year for under- privileged children in his hometown.
James took a break from his starring role in ''Space Jam 2,'' currently in production, to spend time with the kids and support his family foundation.
Before taking the court for a quick pickup game against the youngsters, James took the microphone and addressed the kids, encouraging them to chase their dreams the way he and his friends have.
''This is a basketball court and we see basketball hoops, but it teaches you so much more than just basketball,'' he said. ''To be able to create a
brotherhood or sisterhood and create things that will last for- ever. A lot of people say things you do in high school you'll for- get. Well, we created a friend- ship 25 years ago and we're still firm and strong. This is our way of giving it back to you guys - paying it forward.''
And then, James was again dribbling and passing with Dru Joyce, III, Willie McGee, Romeo Travis and Sian Cot- ton, the ''Fab Five'' from St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, a group that won a state title and became nationally known as James rose from an Ohio teen prodigy to professional icon.
His former coach, Dru Joyce, was also on hand.
James, who is spending more than $1 million on vari- ous upgrades for the school, dunked to break in one of the new hoops but missed a couple of long 3-pointers.
ISAIAH THOMAS
One of the smallest players in the NBA just got even smaller this offseason.
Ex-All-Star guard Isaiah Thomas took to Twitter on Tuesday to reveal that he now weighs 168 pounds, noting he had not been that light since prep school.
Thomas, who signed a one-year deal for the veteran’s minimum with the Washington Wizards this summer, has an officially listed weight of 185, meaning that he has lost nearly 20 pounds.
Mike Tyson is certainly enjoying his retirement.
Not only has the former boxer become an advocate for marijuana while hosting a podcast called Hot Boxin', but he also explained the ex- tent of his marijuana use in the latest episode.
"What do we smoke a month?" Tyson asked his co- host, Eben Britton. "Is it $40,000 a month? It's $40, yeah, $40,000 a month."
"We smoke 10 tons of weed at the ranch a month," Britton said.
Tyson broke ground on a 40-acre ranch earlier this year to both grow marijuana and research the effects of the drug. The new company said on its website that it aims to create "Better

Cannabis" for its customers. However, it appears Tyson is getting high on his
own supply.
It's unknown how many
people are joining in on these sessions at his ranch, but $40,000 per month is still a lot of money to spend on marijuana.

NCAA Changes ‘Rich
Paul Rule,’ Removes Degree Requirement
The NCAA created a great deal of controversy recently when it implemented new cri- teria for agents who are repre- senting student-athletes who want to test the NBA Draft wa- ters, and the rule has already been changed.
On Monday, the NCAA amended a key portion of the new guidelines. Whereas be- fore it was mandatory that any agent representing a player who is testing the NBA Draft must have a college degree, agents now have to either have a bachelor’s degree or be certi- fied by the NBA Players Associ- ation.
That is a key distinction, and it was almost certainly added because of the backlash
RICH PAUL
the NCAA received for suppos- edly targeting NBA superagent Rich Paul.
Paul, who represents Le- Bron James and numerous other star players, has quickly become one of the most power- ful agents in sports. He does not have a college degree.
