5 Charged With Conspiring To Distribute Drugs
 Police Search For Suspect In Fatal
      Convicted Felon Gets 15 Years For Having Gun And Ammunition
  Last Friday, a federal judge sentenced a Tampa man to a prison sentence. He pleaded guilty to being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition Feb- ruary 1, 2018.
U. S. District Judge James S. Moody, Jr., sen- tenced Arvester Lamonica Anderson, 47, to 15 years. The Court also ordered him to forfeit the firearm and am- munition used in the offense.
According to court docu- ments, on June 22, 2017, An- derson and his roommate became involved in an alter- cation and the roommate, be- lieving that Anderson had threatened him with a firearm, called the police. Of- ficers from the Tampa Police Department responded and found a loaded pistol in An-

derson’s closet.
Anderson subsequently
admitted to having the firearm. Anderson has a history of felony convictions, and cannot own a firearm or ammunition under federal law.
  Police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead. The shooting took place late Friday.
According to the Largo Po- lice Department, 32-year-old Richard Guzman called 9-1- 1 shortly before midnight. Guzman told the operator that he had been shot and was located in the Melrose On The Bay Apartments, 16321 Bolesta Road, in Largo.
When officers arrived, they located Guzman in his dark blue Toyota Tacoma. He was transported to Largo Medical Center, where he died as a re- sult of his injuries.
Police said Guzman didn’t live in the apartment complex. When officers arrived, a per- son was observed running from the scene. However, po- lice are not sure if the person was the suspect in the shoot- ing or a witness to the shoot- ing.
The investigation is contin- uing.
 15 Charged With Trafficking In Cocaine, Heroin

Five individuals were ar- rested last week after a federal indictment was unsealed. They are charged with conspiring to distribute more than 1 kilo- gram of heroin, 400 grams of fentanyl, and 100 grams of a fentanyl analogue.
If convicted, Anthony Jerome Lang, 60, of Tampa; Travell Kinkay Jones, 40, of West Palm Beach; Vanzini Nicholas Hansell, 37, of Tampa; Amber Miller, 32, of

Tampa; and Carlton Reid Mallard, 61, of Tampa each face a maximum penalty of life in federal prison.
According to the indict- ment, beginning in at least June 2017 and continuing through February 2018, Lang, Jones, Hansell, Miller, and Mallard allegedly participated in a conspiracy to distribute heroin, fentanyl, and fentanyl analogues in the Middle Dis- trict of Florida.

Police Investigating Fatal Hit And Run Accident
   Last week, 15 individuals were indicted and are facing federal drug trafficking charges. They were indicted in two separate indictments. In one indictment, Jesus- Manuel Rodriguez, a.k.a. “Cultu,” 30, of Brandon; Bryan Gomez Nevarez, 30, of Avon Park; Hector Jose Carrasquillo Perez, a.k.a. “Tito” 25, of Catano, Puerto Rico; Henry Coira, 30, of Avon Park; Luis Enrique Hernandez Quinones, a.k.a. “Gordo,” 28, of Davenport; Avisys Lee Jackson, 27, of Tampa; Javier Albaladejo Lopez, a.k.a. “the Barber,” 23, of Tampa; Jose Angel Men- doza, Jr., 28, of Tampa; Pedro Luis Ramos Bur- gos, 25, of Kissimmee; William Leverne Nor- ton, a.k.a. “Cool,” 40, of Tampa; Edgar Hernan- dez, a.k.a. “Chuck,” 27, of Tampa; and Ismael Pagan Marrero, 42, of Orlando
are charged with conspiracy and possession with the in- tent to distribute cocaine.
If convicted, each faces a maximum penalty of life in federal prison.
In a separate indictment, Roberto Torres Garcia, a.k.a. “el Silencio,” 40, of Pinellas Park; Eddie Al- berto Pagan Santiago, a.k.a. “Primo,” 37, of San Juan, Puerto Rico; and David Santiago, a.k.a. “Flaco,” 33, Tampa are charged with conspiracy and possession with the intent to distribute heroin.
If convicted, each faces a maximum penalty of 40 years in federal prison.
According to the indict- ment and information pre- sented in court, between May 2017 and April 2018, the defendants conspired to distribute more than 100 grams of heroin and more than 20 kilograms of co- caine.
 Police responded to the en- trance of the Selmon Express- way and Cleveland Sunday morning in reference to a man being down. When officers ar- rived, they discovered the man was dead. It was reported at 10 a.m.
According to the Tampa Po- lice Department, it has been determined through the inves- tigation, that the unidentified man was the victim of a hit and run accident. The victim has been identified as 51-year- old Jess Paez.
