MRS. BETTY JENE SHEFFIELD BROWN
The Homegoing Memorial Celebration for Mrs. Betty Jene Sheffield Brown, of Sarasota, Florida, who passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017, in Bradenton, FL, will be held Friday, June 9, 2017, 2 p. m. at the C. L. Memorial Chapel, 1425 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Way, Sarasota, FL. The In- terment will be held at a later date.
Betty Jene Sheffield, the second oldest of ten children born to Theodore and Rose Mae Sheffield, Sr., was born on November 28, 1939. She was raised and educated in Sarasota, Florida. Betty grad- uated from Booker High School in 1958. After her graduation, she attended Gibbs Jr. College in St. Pe- tersburg, FL.
Preceding her in death were: her husband, Sevell Brown, Jr.; father, Theodore Christopher Sheffield, Sr., December 13, 2001; mother, Rose Mae Sheffield Novem- ber 8, 2005; and four sib- lings, Alice Sheffield, Theodore Sheffield, Jr., Lillie Sheffield Benn, and Rodney Sheffield.
She leaves to cherish her memories: eight children, An- gela White of Sarasota, FL, Johnathan Brown of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Christopher Brown of Plant City, FL, Sher- rina Brown, Roger Brown, and Robbie Brown, all of Sarasota, FL, Debbie Brown of Venice, FL, and Rosemary Brown Badji of Orlando, FL.; her 3 sisters, Ann Williams of Staten Island, NY, Patricia Collins of St. Petersburg, FL, Sheila McCullough of Sara- sota, FL.; her 2 brothers, Floyd Sheffield of Clearwater, FL and Lloyd Sheffield of St. Petersburg, FL.; 17 grandchil- dren; 19 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The viewing for Mrs. Brown was held on Thursday evening at Chandler’s Funeral Home from 6-8 p. m. Friends are asked to assemble at the chapel at approximately 1:45 p. m. Friday for the service.

PROPHETESS ELLA MARIE HORNE
On October 23, 1948, a daugh- ter was born to the late Rev. Dr. Ishmeal and Jessie Mae Joann Kingcade Anderson. Ella Marie (Maria) grew up in a home sur- rounded by love and Christian values.
“Maria” attended the Hills- borough County public schools, graduating from Middleton High School of Tampa, FL, in 1966. She matriculated to Lincoln Business College in Orlando, FL and graduated in 1967 in the field of computer science. She sought furthered studies in floral de- signing and graduated from Erwin Tech. She later became a master florist and a graduate of Brewster Tech.
“Maria” was a child care provider and licensed director, VPK director and worked in the field of early education for 25 years.
On June 21, 1966, she met her husband, Donald and on August 19, 1967, the two became one. Pastor Ella Marie Horne’s motto has always been “May the Work I’ve Done Speak for Me.” Ella was called home to be with her Lord on May 31, 2017.
Cherishing the memories of this great woman of God are: her loving and devoted husband, Bishop Dr. D. A. Horne, Sr.; chil- dren, Minister Carolyn R. H. Robins and husband, Robert, Carol Horne, Chaplain Caroline Henry and husband, Douglas, Donald A. Horne, Jr. and wife, Rosa; sister, Matilda Renee An- derson Payne, Tampa; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grand- children; nieces, nephews, god- children and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 9, 2017 from 5-7 p. m. at Cathedral of Faith Church Inc., 6304 N. 30th St., Tampa, FL 33610.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017, 11 a. m. at the Church.
