Killer Mike has been an advocate for the legalization of marijuana for quite some time. Now that eight states have approved recreational cannabis use and 28 have ap- proved medical marijuana, business has started boom- ing. But it appears the black community is being left in the dust and Killer Mike lays out his case for the protection of black brothers and sisters in an op-ed for Rolling Stone.
Noting that only one per- cent of all marijuana dispen- saries are black-owned, the Run the Jewels rapper ex- plains the difficult process of getting into the industry.
He proceeds to break down the history of laws against marijuana and how they have greatly affected minority pop- ulations.

tions of past convictions for actions that are no longer il- legal. Colorado and Washing- ton, the first states to legalize weed for recreational pur- poses, are more strict on granting dispensary owner- ship to those with a history of drug convictions while Cali- fornia, who just approved the legalization of marijuana in November’s election, already has a plan to clean the slates of those charged for nonvio- lent drug crimes.
DJ Khaled recently visited students at Harvard Univer- sity as part of the Get Schooled on Snapchat Col- lege Tour. Khaled serves as the non-profit’s official spokesperson.
During his time at Harvard, Khaled participated in a pri- vate, student-hosted event featuring a live interview with Professor Anita Elberse, the majority of which focused on success in the entertain- ment industry.
The Miami mogul shared his keys to success and as- sured students that they can do whatever they want to do in life: “If you want to be a teacher, whatever you want to do, do it. There’s no reason

why you couldn’t do it. We blessed. We got life so we can accomplish anything we want to accomplish.”

Sony announced last Friday (Dec. 9) the official release dates for their upcoming films, Bad Boys 4 and Spider-Man: Homecoming 2, as well as the official trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Variety reports the company pushed Bad Boys 4 up from a Fourth of July holiday week- end release to May 24, 2019.
For those wondering about the rollout to Bad Boys 3, the film officially titled Bad Boys For Life will debut Jan 2018. It was originally slated for June 2017.
Uber Employees Spied On Beyonce
Uber is under fire for an in- ternal company tool called “God View,” which tracks the location of Uber vehicles and customers who have re- quested cars.
The company’s former forensic investigator Samuel Ward Spangenberg is cur- rently suing the company, ac- cusing Uber of age discrimination and whistle- blower retaliation, The Guardian reports.
In Spangenberg’s Octo- ber court testimony, he claimed that Uber employees would regularly spy on “high- profile politicians, celebrities and even personal acquain- tances of Uber employees, in- cluding ex-boyfriends or girlfriends, and ex-spouses.”
Beyoncé was reportedly
one of the celebrities whose movements were being mon- itored.
Spangenberg said he ex- pressed his concerns over the lack of security to Uber exec- utives and was fired 11 months later. He also claimed that driver and employee in- formation was stored in an insecure way.

Lil Uzi Vert Faces Reckless Driving Charge After Dirt Bike Incident

Lil Uzi Vert was out joyrid- ing his dirt bike with a friend Tuesday night (Dec. 13) in At- lanta, Ga., until police realized he was not wearing a helmet or had his lights on at night. Cops say the duo raced the wrong way down a one-way street, drove on a sidewalk, and crossed five lanes of traffic without signaling.
The Philly rapper reportedly sped away from the cops, but eventually fell off and had to ditch the vehicle and fled on foot, but was caught.
Uzi was booked on charges of obstruction, reckless driving, not having a valid driver’s li- cense, among other traffic vio- lations.

the reason for the meeting, taking to Twitter for the first time since October to share that he and Trump had dis- cussed “multicultural issues.” The Chicago rapper said he is especially concerned about is- sues in his hometown and ex- plained that he wants no middle man between himself and the future leader of the country.
The rapper turned fashion designer was criticized just before the election, pledging his support for Trump and urging his fans to vote for the GOP candidate.
