President Obama Vows To Keep ‘My Brother’s Keeper’ Going At Final Summit
President Obama held his final My Brother's Keeper Sum- mit (MBK) at the White House on Wednesday.
MBK was launched by the President in 2014 to help ad- dress the opportunity gaps for young men of color and help them reach their full potential.
President Obama put out a call to action to members of the community to help make this program a success.
Since its inception, almost 250 communities in all 50 states, D.C., Puerto Rico, and 19 tribal nations have accepted the MBK Community Challenge.
President Obama hosted his final ‘My Brother’s Keeper’ sum- mit as POTUS.
Wednesday's summit drew 300 of those involved with the program to the White House to participate in the Summit and come face to face with other black men who believe in the
program as well. Some of the no- table faces who were present were actor and comedian D.L. Hughley along with Former Mayor of Philadelphia, Michael Nutter.
President Obama Declines To Sign Sanction Renewal Against Iran

President Signs Landmark $6.3B ‘Cures Act’
In an unexpected reversal,
President Barack Obama
declined to sign a renewal of sanctions against Iran, but let it become law anyway, in an apparent bid to alleviate Tehran's concerns that the U.S. is backsliding on the nu- clear deal.
Although the White House had said that President Obama was expected to sign the 10-year-renewal, the mid- night deadline came and went Thursday with no approval from the President. White House press secretary Josh Earnest said the President had decided to let it become
law without his signature. "The administration has, and continues to use, all of the necessary authorities to waive the relevant sanctions" lifted as part of the nuclear deal,
Earnest said in a statement. Under the Constitution, the president has 10 days after Congress passes a bill to sign it, veto it or let it become law with no signature if Congress is still in session. Although lawmakers have returned home for the holidays, Con- gress technically has not ad- journed and is holding "pro-forma" sessions this
week.
Wednesday, President Obama signed into law the 21st Century Cures Act, bipar- tisan legislation that will go a long way toward bringing about the medical break- throughs we need to meet some of the biggest health challenges facing Americans today.
No matter what corner of the country you live in, you or someone in your life has been touched by cancer, the opioid epidemic, devastating illnesses or serious mental health is- sues.

know it, and help those who are seeking treatment for opi- oid addiction.
