RAY WILLIAMS
REV. CATHY LINETTE FAYSON JOHNSON
The Reverend Cathy Linette Fayson Johnson of Brandon passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 10th, 11 a. m. at St. James A. M. E. Church, 5202 S. 86th Street, with Reverend Michael B. Price, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memo- ries Cemetery.
Cathy was born February 13, 1953, at MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, FL, to the union of the late Rev. Frankie S. Fayson, Sr. and Ms. Claretha Fayson Christopher. Cathy was edu- cated in the public schools of Hillsborough County, graduat- ing from C. Leon King High School, in 1971. Cathy furthered her education at St. Leo Univer- sity and graduated with a Bach- elor’s degree in Psychology.
Cathy traveled the United States and the world as a mili- tary wife. She worked as an Early Childhood Development Teacher; as a DACCO Coun- selor; and at the time of Cathy’s transition, she served as an As- sociate Minister at Saint James African Methodist Episcopal Church, Progress Village in var- ious capacities.
Cathy was preceded in death by: her father, the late Rev- erend Frankie S. Fayson, Jr.
Cathy leaves to cherish her memory: a doting and caring mother, Claretha Fayson Christopher; 3 loving and de- voted children, Shawlonda L. Hallback (Chevelle); Sheri L. Saffore (DeAndre) and Jer- maine J. Johnson (Claudette); loving siblings: sister, Esther Fayson and Fiancé Alfonso Thornton; cousin/sister, Tracey Brunson; brothers, The Rev. Frankie S. Fayson, III (N. Lakay Fayson) and The Rev. Bryant A. Fayson; 7 beautiful grandchil- dren, Michael Mitchell, Joshua Mitchell, Christian Mitchell, Jordan Barnes (Dasia), Elijah Saffore, Amber Saffore and Au- tumn Saffore; great-grandson, Aiden Mitchell; nephews, Bryant Fayson, II, Ryan K. Mar- tin (Cleao), Anthony Fayson, Bryson Fayson and Brandon Parham; nieces, Imani Fayson, Evan Lawson, Niara Fayson and Bryonne Fayson; aunts, Betty Hudson, Bernice Garvin and Mary J. and husband; uncles, Dr. George L. Fayson (Gladys), James Fayson (Margie), and Verdell C. Fayson (Carolyn); de- voted cousins, Fayson, Douglas, Singletary, Aydelotte, Pryor, Keaton, Lane, and Davis fami- lies, and many other cousins; a host of other loving family members, classmates, col- leagues and caring friends.
The remains will repose and the family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p. m. Friday, Decem- ber 9, at St. James A. M. E. Church.

MS. THERESA A. MANUEL
MR. JACOB THOMAS PALMER
Mr. Jacob Thomas Palmer “Brother,” of Tampa, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 10th, at 2 p. m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, with Pastor Antonio Hawkins, officiating.
Mr. Palmer was a native of Tampa, FL. In the early 1970s he moved to Utica, New York and eventually relocated back to Tampa in 2004. He attended the public schools of Hillsbor- ough County.
While in Utica, New York he had a lengthy career as a Pro- fessional Bus Driver for Utica Transit, in which he retired in 1995 due to health issues.
He was affectionately known for his great sense of humor; he was a family man who loved cooking, fishing, cowboy movies and wrestling.
He was preceded in death by: his wife of 50 plus years, Char- lie Mae; sons, Mark and William Palmer of Utica, NY; and daughters, Patricia and Christine Palmer of Utica, NY; brothers, Nathaniel Thornton, Pastor Ira Thornton, Sr., Robert Thornton, David Thorn- ton, Cecil Thornton and sister, Ida Mae Thornton.
He leaves to cherish fond memories with: significant other, Lena Ann Reese (Tina), and mother, Hazel Anderson; sons, Vernon Sr., Sean and Cecil Palmer, Utica, NY and Ti- juan Carter, Utica, New York; daughters, Tommie Lee and Christine Palmer, Utica, New York and Tiffany Moore, Tampa; grandchildren, Erica, Lennar, Slayanna, Rodisha, Thomas, Vernon Jr., Jonas, Jacob, Cecil, Jr. Quadeedra, Malcolm, Sean, Jr., Tayvon, Ariyana, Aleesia, Lafey, Tijuan, Kiya, Mathis, Ta, Heather, Sade, Angelo and Dominca, all from Utica, NY; brother, Ron- nie Thornton; sisters, Florence Pierce, Wylene (Ariel) Green, Irene Green, Consuelo Padilla and sister-in-law, Mary Thorn- ton and a host of great grand- children, nephews, nieces and friends.
The remains will repose after 5 p. m. Friday, December 9th, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue.

MR. RICHARD JOHN REESE
Mr. Richard John Reese of Temple Terrace, FL passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016. Funeral services will be con- ducted Thursday, December 15th, 11 a. m. at Ray Williams Me- morial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, with Pastor Donald Lott, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Reese was a native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida. He was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and continued his edu- cation at Hillsborough Commu- nity College where he received his Associates Degree.
He leaves to cherish his mem- ory: his loving mother, Glenda Powell Levins; stepfathers, Don- ald Levins and Winston Powell; children, Nicholas Reese, Joshua Reese and Matthew Reese; sisters, Cynthia Carter (Greg), Camille Mack (Natalia), Christal Powell, Donetta Levins and Shameka Levins; uncle, Jacob Gray, John Gray and Ken- neth Levins (Stephanie); aunts, Jane Gray and Kathleen Gray; nephews, Michael Reese and Royce Powell Davis; and a host of other nieces and nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.

MR. BRODERICK RAYNORD WINN
Mr. Broderick Raynord Winn, affectionately called “Brod” of Tampa, passed away Monday, November 28, 2016. Funeral services will be conducted Sat- urday, December 10th, 2 p. m. at Holy Outreach For Christ House of Prayer Assembly, 7935 N. Armenia Avenue, Tampa, 33604 with Dr. Ala Faye Nelson Vickers, Pastor, officiating. In- terment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Ceme- tery.
Mr. Winn was a native of Glendale, Arizona and a resi- dent of Tampa for many years. He was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Robinson High School. Broderick worked for Jones Inter Cable, Time Warner and finally Bright House –Bay News 9.
He was a member of College Hill COGIC and his hobbies con- sisted of fishing, photography, basketball and his favorite foot- ball team was the New Orleans Saints.
He leaves to cherish his mem- ory: a loving and devoted wife, Shenita Winn; son, RayVon Winn; daughters, Rainesha Winn and Sheri Hicks; his par- ents, George Winn, Jr. and Henri Mae Winn; sister, Lasan- dra Winn; special aunt, Gwen- dolyn Johnson; uncle, Robert Cummings; great uncle, Lionell Cummings; cousins, Tomekia Cummings and her two chil- dren (Gregory Smith and Cheshly), Terrell Johnson (Cynza) and their 3 children; fa- ther and mother-in-law, L. J. Olympian, Coach and Legend, Ms. Theresa A. Manuel, sur- rounded by her loving family, transitioned from this life to Heaven on Monday, November 21, 2016. A Celebration of life memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016, 11 a. m. at her alma mater, George S. Middleton High School Audi- torium, 4801 N. 22nd Street, Tampa, FL 33610. Coach Manuel, a lifelong resi- dent of Tampa, Florida, was edu- cated in the public school system of Hillsborough County, and after graduation from Tuskegee Institute (now University) re- turned home and dedicated 38 years of her life to the students at Middleton and Hillsborough High Schools before retiring.
She leaves to cherish her memories with: caregiver and cousin, Cynthia J. Flowers; other cousins and family members, Honorable Doris Reddick, Do- lores Johnson and family, Dr. Ernest Boger and family, Rev. In lieu of flowers, please con- sider making a donation in the name of the late Coach Theresa A. Manuel to your respective alumni associations {Middleton, Hillsborough and/or Tuskegee} to aid a student who will be pur- suing further education in physi- cal education (basketball and/or track).
