Ms. Estella Gray, Director of Communications for the Hillsbor- ough County State Attorney’s Office said, “This event, held in partnership with the Commission on the Status of Women and Tampa Hillsborough
Homeless Initiative, gives those who have been arrested a chance to have their record sealed or expunged. If you were charged with a crime in Hillsborough County and the case did not result in a conviction, you may be eligible to have a single record sealed or expunged.”
Ms. Gray said, the difference is having a record sealed means the in- formation is still available to law en- forcement and other governmental agencies. If a record is expunged, it means it is completely destroyed and cannot be retrieved. A person is enti- tled to one record sealing or Expunge- ment is a lifetime.
