  Councilman Gudes Presents Commendation To Tampa Bay Chapter Of National Black Nurses Association
 In an effort to recognize several organizations and individuals in the Tampa Bay area, Tampa City Coun- cilman Orlando Gudes has been presenting com- mendations to many of those who do great work, but are seldom noticed.
On Thursday, August 29th, he presented a com- mendation to the Tampa Bay Chapter of the National Black Nurses Association.
The commendation read:
“In honor of their com-
 mitment to the health and welfare of the underserved, uninsured, and disadvan- taged populations, Tampa City Council applauds the efforts of the Tampa Bay Chapter of the National Black Nurses Association. This commendation is pre- sented to recognize the ef- forts of TBBNA toward accessible and affordable healthcare via their advo- cacy, education, health screenings and preventative care.
“Since its induction to
the national organization in 1988, the Tampa Chapter of NBNA has tirelessly served the Tampa community with programs such as health fairs, forums and walks aimed toward everything from HIV and Breast Cancer awareness to domestic vio- lence and human trafficking prevention.
In gratitude to the serv- ice of the Tampa Bay Black Nurses Association, the City of Tampa presents this com- mendation on the 29th day of August.”
In attendance to accept the commendation were: from left, Mary Watson, Gladys Permuy, Councilman Gudes, Rosa Cambridge, and Carmen McIntosh.
