Police Arrest 9 During Raid At Bottle Club
Two Charged After
7 Kilos Of Cocaine Found During Search Warrant
Nine people were charged early Saturday morning after law enforcement executed a search warrant at a bottle club. The raid was conducted at the Glo Ultra Lounge, 8831 W. Hillsborough Avenue.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the Florida Di- vision of Alcoholic Beverage and Tobacco, Florida Proba- tion and Parole, the Hillsbor- ough County Fire Marshal’s Office, Florida State Depart- ment of Agriculture and Hills- borough County Code Enforcement officers executed the search warrant.
The Glo Ultra Lounge is a bottle club that allows its pa- trons to bring their own alco- hol. However, the club is prohibited from the sales of al- cohol by its employees.
According to a press release, Sheriff David Gee orga- nized the investigation be- cause of the continued threat of the club and Thee Crazy Horse, which is located next door, to pose the safety and well being of the surrounding residential and business com- munity.
Officials further said that substantial amounts of co- caine, marijuana, and methamphetamine were seized. Additionally, $1,951 in cash, 70 bottles of unlawful wine and liquor, 67 bottles of beer, and one firearm from a vehicle were confiscated.
Officials said police have re- ceived more than 130 calls for service since June 2014 be- tween the two businesses. The calls were related to drugs, prostitution, and violent crimes that included at least 4 shootings and one homicide.

Individuals taken into custody and charged were:
Antonio T. Bethea, 35, was charged with violation of probation for dealing in stolen property false information to a pawnbroker.

was arrested on a warrant for driving while his license under suspension.
Davonn A. Banks-Pea- cock, 36, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon.
Desiree M. Lindsey, 31, was charged with possession of cocaine.
Jimmy J. Velasquez, 30, was charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Kira Ankney, 24, was charged with sale of alcohol with improper license.
Jordan T. Hamilton, 26, was charged with sale of alco- hol with improper license.
Lindsey H. Botts, 23, was charged with sale of alcohol with improper license.
Carlos Guzman Ortiz, 51, was charged with two counts of keeping and maintaining a place where alcohol is sold.

Two men were taken into custody and charged Friday after a search warrant was ex- ecuted at a residence. The ar- rests closed out an 11-month narcotics investigation.
According to the Hillsbo- rough County Sheriff’s Office, the Special Investigation Divi- sion detectives, in conjunction with SWAT, the Tampa Police Department and District 4 deputies conducted the inves- tigation.
Police said the deputies con- ducted a buy/bust operation for a half kilogram (504 grams) of powder cocaine. After the purchase was made, police arrested 42-year-old Willie Johnson, of Tampa.
Johnson was charged with seven counts of trafficking in cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of drug parapher- nalia, and driving while his li- censes are suspended.
The search warrant was exe- cuted at the residence of Der- rick Willis, 36, 8303 Ash Avenue. Willis was arrested after police observed him flee- ing on foot as they attempted to execute the search warrant. During the execution of the search warrants, police located a large amount of cocaine packaged for sale and $2,665 in cash. They also seized a 2003 Dodge Ram valued at $5,500.
A second search warrant was
executed at the Metro Self Storage, 10813 Boyette Road, in Riverview. During the search of the storage unit, de- tectives recovered a large amount of powder cocaine, along with cutting agent and several kilo presses. The esti- mated street value of the co- caine is $300,000.
Police said the storage unit was rented in the name of Derrick Willis.
