RAY WILLIAMS
MR. JOHN BARNES
Mr. John Barnes passed away peacefully Thursday, December 22, 2016. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017, at 11 a. m. in the chapel of Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, with the Reverend Benjamin Twina- maani, officiating. Interment will be Friday, January 13, 2017 at Sarasota National Cemetery Columbarium.
Mr. Barnes was a native of Tallahassee, FL and resided in Tampa for 13 years. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and Florida A&M University, Tallahassee, FL. Mr. Barnes served in the US Army. He was a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and the FAMU National Alumni Association. He was also a member of the Free and Accepted Masons (Prince Hall Affiliation). He was em- ployed by the IBM Corporation at numerous NY locations, retir- ing as a technology specialist after 33 years.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Barnes and Bessie Brown, and siblings Catherine Haynes and Ronnie Young.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 45 years, Valerie O. Barnes; two daughters and sons-in-law, Amira and Troy Williams (Mont- clair, N. J.) and Monica and Kar- riem Lateef (Alexandria, VA); six grandchildren, Kira, Torian, Gavin and Aria Williams and Zoe and Alaina Lateef; two sib- lings, Phillip Young and Sheila Ingram; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

MR. THOMAS L. BROWN, SR.
Mr. Thomas L. Brown, Sr., also known as “Pete” of Tampa, FL, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017. Funeral serv- ices will be conducted Satur- day, January 14, at 11 a. m. at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church, 8119 E. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, with Rev- erend Eugene Garnett, Pastor officiating. Interment will fol- low in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Brown was a native of Jasper, Florida and a resident of Tampa for 33 years. He at- tended Hamilton County High School and was a member of Springhill M. B. Church. Mr. Brown retired as a Construc- tion worker from Cone and Graham Construction Com- pany. “Pete” loved his sports and was a big FSU fan.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Linda Faye Brown of Tampa, FL; six chil- dren, Kutana, Thomas, Jr., Darius, Latoya, and Willie Brown, all of Tampa, and Yolanda Mitchell (Philip) of Jasper, FL; and a special son, Antonio Dowels of Miami, FL; grandchildren, Terrell, Dane- sha, Don, Darius, Jr., Jazae, Corday and Willie, Jr., all of Tampa, and Daquelon of St. Pe- tersburg, FL; special grands, DaCari and Dalayla of St. Pe- tersburg; siblings, Marie Murillo, Tangelous Love Wing- field (Gary), Marilyn Brown Williams (James), Sammie, Troy and Alberta Brown of Tampa, Herbert Brown of Ger- many, Gregory Brown (Car- olyn) of Maryland, Sherril Brown of Georgia, Edward Brown of Deland, FL and Cas- sandra Brown of Orlando, FL; sisters-in-law, Cleo Thomas (Freeman), Gloria Sanders, Denise Scandrett (Penny), all of Tampa; uncles, Kelly Riggins of Orange City, FL and Robert Lee Cooper of Ft. MOTHER AMELIA BLAKE HICKS
Mother Amelia Blake Hicks, age 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan- uary 7, 2017 at Kindred Hos- pital in Tampa, Florida. Homegoing services will be conducted on Satur- day, January 14, 2017, at 11 a. m., at Living in Victory Christian Church, 1603 E. Bloomingdale Avenue, Val- rico, FL, Overseer M. W. Brown, officiating, with Bishop M. B. Jefferson, Eulo- gist. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, located at 4615 East Hanna Avenue, Tampa.
Mother Amelia Blake Hicks was a native of Chiefland, Florida and a res- ident in Tampa for more than 50 years. Mother Hicks was a beloved and faithful member of Deeper Life Christian Church for more than 30 years.
Mo. Hicks was preceded in death by: her parents, Neal Blake (Essie Mae); husband, James Hicks; son, Jonathan Williams; and three siblings, Malon Blake, Sr., Ovedia Glover and Sophie London.
She leaves behind to cher- ish her memory: four loving sons, Joseph Williams, Gre- gory Williams (Daphne), Francis Williams (fiancée Barbara Evans), and James Williams (Candis); 10 grand- children, Michelle Waiters, Nedra Cox (David), Courtney Williams, Quanisha Tyson (Howard), Tiffany Oliver (Otis), James Williams, Jr., Jamal Williams, Tameka Williams, Nicole Williams, and Ciara Williams; great grandchildren; two siblings, Mary Elizabeth Blake and James Blake (Jameszetter); V. (Cookie); and a host of godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends and neighbors.
The visitation will begin 5 p. m. Friday, January 13, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, and the family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p. m. at the Chapel.

Prince Noah LaShay Lather departed this life on Sunday, January 1, 2017.
Noah was born August 20, 2016 in Tampa, to Quarnisha Latasha Marshall. He was a beautiful and loving baby boy.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Quar- nisha Latasha Marshall; one sister, Cadence Lather; seven aunts, Marion, Terriyon, Rosa Bee, Claudia, Amira, Amore, and Quanni; nine un- cles, Robert, QuaShawn, Emory, Patronious, Maurice, Patrick, Taylon, Norris, and Marlin; two grandmothers, Debra Lather, Latasha Hud- son; great grandmother, Pas- tor Marion Crawford; and one godmother, Cristine West; along with a host of cousins, other loving rela- tives and friends.

MRS. BRENDA LIVINGSTON
Mrs. Brenda Livingston of Tampa, passed away Friday, De- cember 30, 2016. A graveside service will be conducted Satur- day, January 14, at 11 a. m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, with Elder Terry Roe, officiating. Interment will follow.
Mrs. Livingston was a lifelong native and resident of Tampa, born to Rosa and Pulcher Brown. She attended local schools and graduated from Blake High School. Upon graduation she met and married her loving husband, L. V. Through their union, they bore two children. She was em- ployed as a daycare worker at Rosa Valdez Pre-School. She also volunteered as a 4H worker for many years. Her passion was for all kids. She was known to always have a house full.
She was a faithful member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, now known as St. John Cathedral. She was a faithful member until her health would no longer allow her to attend. She held the office of Secretary for the youth department drill team.
She was preceded in death by: parents, Rosa and Pulcher Brown; mother and father-in-law, Channey Boy and Jill Livingston; brothers, Robert Lee McClinton, Sr. and Horace Brown; brother- in-law, Robert Livingston; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Liv- ingston.
She leaves to mourn her pass- ing: husband, L. V.
