Gospel Concert Kicks Of Annual Assembly Of National Trusted Partners For Christ, Inc.

For the first time in its 6- year reformation, the National Trusted Partners for Christ, Inc. will hold its Annual As- sembly in Tampa, August 14- 18, 2016. Rev. Dr. Henry J. Lyons, President, and his congregation at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church will host the assembly. All events will be held at the church. The church is located at 8525 N. 78th St., Temple Terrace (33637).
The theme of the assembly is “Strengthening Families by ANY Means Necessary,” Judges 1:25.
The assembly opens on Sunday, August 14, 2016, with a Pre-Convention Musical at 6 p. m. There is a $10 donation. The musical will feature Min- ister Ray Holmes with Joshua Generation and others. Dr. Lyons and his committee invite and encour- age the community to join out of town guests to support this Lakeland group.
Starting on Monday, Au- gust 15, 2016, Christian educa- tion sessions will be held each day, through August 18th. The women’s sessions will be held at New Salem MBC, and the

men will gather at Faith Tem- ple M. B. Church, 2916 Orient Rd., Tampa (33619). The after- noon sessions (2-4 p. m.) for all will be held at New Salem.
In addition to the 7 p. m nightly service, a “Late Night Service” will be held each evening at approximately 9 p. m.
The 7 p. m. service on Mon- day will be the National Presi- dent’s Men of Distinction Annual Address, “Laymen’s Role in the Modern Church.”
The public is invited to join the assembly for its Foreign Mission and Scholarship Ban- quet to be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, 6:30 p. m., with Rev. Dr. Zachery S. Hudson, Pastor of Re-Birth M. B. Church, as the speaker.
On Wednesday, 7 p. m., the National Women of Grace President’s Annual Address will be held with Dr. Nellie Williams giving the address.
Thursday morning (August 18th) at 11 a. m., Dr. Barbara Wright, President of the Sen- ior Women of the National Baptist Convention of America, Inc., will be the guest speaker for the 6th Annual Heart Luncheon.
At 7 p. m. that evening, Dr. Lyons will give the President’s
Address.
According to Dr. Lyons, it
was more than 20 years ago that he started this journey of the Trusted Partners. He sought the Lord’s guidance.
The National Trusted Part- ners For Christ, Inc. is cur- rently in 11 states, with headquarters in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. There are 12 mem- ber churches in Florida. The members in Tampa are: New Salem MBC (Rev. Dr. Lyons), Re-Birth (Rev. Dr. Hudson) and Faith Temple MBC (Rev. Dr. Eric Camp- bell).
One of the main assign- ments of the organization is foreign mission, with work in Haiti, operating 5 schools, and conducting missions in the Caribbean (St. Thomas, St. Croix, and St. Kitts).
“Our Home Mission is to work with families,” Dr. Lyons said, referencing the assembly’s theme – ‘Strength- ening Families...’ “We’re work- ing with Black families trying to get the focus back on home training, something we’ve lost. However, we are not going to give up – we’re going to keep working at it.” (See ad in this issue for more informa- tion)
