The family of a Tampa teenager is asking the commu- nity to help locate him. Micheal Shine, III, has been missing since August 15th.
Shine is approximately 5’11” tall and weighs about 150 pounds. Micheal has a medium complexion, but light discoloration on his left cheek and side of his neck. He is 17- years-old and a senior at West University Charter School.
His mother, Mrs. Jhamila Shine, said this is the first time her son has not let someone know where he is. The family is asking anyone with information about him to contact her at (813) 764-3757.
Mrs. Shine has also filed a Missing Person’s Report with the Tampa Police Depart- ment.
Ms. Janelle McGregor,
Assistant Public Safety Infor-
mation Coordinator for the Tampa Police Department said, “We have followed up ex- tensively on every lead that the family has been able to pro- vide us with. At this time, we’re asking that if anyone has information on who Micheal’s associates are and/or the places he is known to hang out, please call.
“There have been some comments on social media as to why an Amber Alert was not issued in this case. The reason being is that it does not meet the criteria required by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), which includes the clear indication of abduction, and detailed de- scription of the abductor and/or vehicle,” Ms. MeGre- gor said.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Micheal can contact the Tampa Police Department at (813) 231-6130.

Encouraging people to vote is the greatest concern of people involved in politics. And, records show that voter turnout is usually low during a non-presidential election year.
This year, it seems that there is reason for concern in East Tampa. Records show a significant drop in the num- ber of people who voted 4 years ago.
In 2014, the East Tampa voting location was the C. Blythe Andrews, Jr., Public Library. The location was moved to Cyrus Greene Com- munity Center because a new library is under construction.
Ms. Gerri Kramer,
spokesperson for the Hills- borough County Supervisor of Elections Office, shared sta- tistics about the turnout in 2014 and 2018 by the 10th day of early voting.
In 2014, 1,467 people had visited the library to cast their ballots. However, by the same time in 2018, the number of voters who visited Cyrus Greene Community Center was 915. A total of 552 more people voted at the library 4
years ago.
However, the West Tampa
Public Library, which has been an established voting lo- cation for several years, is showing an increase in voters. In 2014, 730 people had cast ballots. In 2018, 782 people have visited the location to vote.
New Early Voting Site
Craig Latimer, Hillsbor- ough County Supervisor of Elections stated that voting is about to become more con- venient for the students, fac- ulty, and staff at the Tampa Campus of the University of South Florida.
Individuals on the campus will be able to cast their bal-
lots during the Early Voting period at the Yeungling Cen- ter, (formerly known as the Sun Dome). The USF site will be one of 20 Early Voting sites available for the 2018 General Election. Early Vot- ing will begin on October 22nd and end on November 4th.
The new location on the campus is due to the ruling is- sued in late July, by U. S. Dis- trict Judge Mark Walker. Judge Walker’s ruling al- lows Early Voting on college campuses.
The Supervisor of Elec- tions has an Election Day polling place in USF’s Mar- shall Student Center. Repre- sentatives are frequently on campus to register students to vote and share election infor- mation.
