o, we’re not going to talk about Omorosa Mani-
gault Newman, (that’s President Trump’s latest attack and defense clone), other than to say there’s a pronounced difference between a dog and a human being no matter what the argument may offer.
Instead, we choose to discuss a subject more com- pelling and closer to home. We choose to talk about the perils, stupidity and lunacy of juvenile football.
He had not even begun to live before he died. Killed at the age of 19, this young man who just hap- pened to be Black, had a mind stuffed with future glory . . . with the visions of touchdowns, tackles, and thunderous cheers from an adoring crowd that roared his name. No doubt, this college freshman had hopes not only of becoming a four-year MVP by the time he finished the University of Maryland, but dreamed nightly that he, among a precious few, would go on to join the ranks of the NFL.
But fate laughed. This young man’s dreams were not to become reality.
Why? Here’s why. It was a sweltering day. The young man’s head coach was not necessarily in a good mood, so, he pushed his juvenile charges to the breaking point. One of them fainted, and would later die. It was nobody’s fault (the hell it wasn’t). Football is a violent game, no matter who plays it, male or fe- male.
So, injuries, trauma, and death are bound to hap- pen. But does that absolve the death of the 19-year- old child? Ask his mother and father. See what they tell you.
Yes, Omorosa can handle her own self. But what about the children – ages 5 to 19 – whose adoring par- ents commend them to the graces of coaches who don’t see children, but visions of mini-NFL players and treat them as such . . . often viciously, maniacally, and insensitively . . . no, not all coaches (Little League, Pony League, Junior High School, High School, College and University), but too many, only if it’s one.
Just recently, a child was laid to rest whose dream died with him on a college football practice field. How many more children will die before the spirit of foot- ball is put safely back in a box where it no longer mur- ders the children it supposedly hopes to save?
Parents, coaches, educators, for God’s sake, wake up!

have a question. Is there something about the Catholic priesthood that turns men into pedophiles or do pedophiles become priests because getting away with molesting children is a
perk of the profession?
I know this is a controver- sial suggestion to make. But, I believe it's a fair question to ask since stories about sexu- ally abusive priests have been a fixture in news cycles for decades. And considering the most recent disturbing revelation coming out of Pennsylvania, where 300 wearers of the cloth have been accused of sexually as- saulting over 1,000 underage victims over a 70-year pe- riod, I think it's one that de- serves to be given some
serious thought.
I mean, you have to imag-
ine that there's something about the priesthood itself that helps inspire and facili- tate these illicit activities be- cause you don't see or hear about this scale of predatory behavior amongst the clergy of any other faith. And what makes it even more likely that what's been occurring is unique to Catholic clerics is the fact that it's been a dark secret that the Church has been attempting to hide for centuries.
According to the book, Isis Unveiled by Helena Blavatsky, after Martin Luther was ex-communi- cated from the Church in 1521, he often spoke of the blatant promiscuity he wit- nessed inside of Roman
monasteries. Luther claimed that priests not only broke their vows of celibacy by engaging in sexual acts with young boys, but with nuns as well.
In an incendiary passage from Isis Unveiled, Blavatsky writes of the hor- rific consequences of hidden priestly lust: "Luther speaks of a fish-pond at Rome, situated near a con- vent of nuns, which, having been cleared out by order of Pope Gregory, disclosed, at the bottom, over six-thou- sand infant skulls: and of a nunnery at Neinburg, in Aus- tria, whose foundation, when searched, disclosed the same relics of Celibacy and chastity."
Can it really be just a co- incidence that the same kind of debauchery that occurred under the guise of piety back then is still taking place now? Probably not.
Over the years the Catholic Church, through its policy of saving face regard- less of what kind of salacious allegations surfaced, seems to have cultivated an envi- ronment that attracts indi- viduals who are drawn to the idea of being able to freely embrace their perversion in much the same way that the army appeals to people who love to fight.
Couple the perverted dis- position of these recruits with the pressure that builds after refraining from sex for long periods of time and what's created is an individ- ual who'll do almost any-
thing to relieve his sexual frustration.
The reverence and trust that priests are usually given by their parishioners gives the predators that have infil- trated the priesthood count- less opportunities to satisfy their pedophilic desires.
And the best part for them is that, even if they get caught, the protection the Church provides means there won't be any jail time; only the inconvenience of being transferred to another location where they can begin raping someone else's child.
Of course, the hypocrisy of it all is that these de- plorable acts are committed under the watch of the Pope. The same person who's often considered the moral author- ity of mankind here on Earth. It is hard to under- stand how the man responsi- ble for, allegedly, giving God's decree on things such as divorce, abortion and ho- mosexuality could so often turn a blind eye to the atroc- ities taking place within his own house?
There is little doubt that, for members of the Catholic faith, this ongoing scandal is a constant embarrassment. And, unfortunately for them, until the Pope decides to de- finitively clean his ranks and allow for these detestable of- fenders to be punished by the letter of the law, not only will the threat of more chil- dren being attacked continue to exist, but the shame that goes along with aligning themselves with such an irre- sponsible theological institu- tion will be a heavy burden that they'll continue to bear.
