Trial Underway In Palm River Triple Murder
Two People Linked To Fatal Home Invasion Arrested

Detectives have arrested two people in connection with a deadly home invasion. The incident took place on October 30th, in Lithia.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, shortly before 9 p.m., on Octo- ber 30th, two armed suspects entered a home in the 100 block of Old Welcome Road. Once inside, the men report- edly pistol-whipped a man and demanded money. A woman in the home armed herself with an AR-10 and fired one shot.
The projectile struck 27- year-old Joseph Michael Baez, killing him. He fled from the scene, but left the house and died on the scene.
Police said it is believed the home was targeted be- cause of criminal activity tak-
ing place inside the residence. As a result of the investiga- tion, detectives developed leads that linked two other
suspects to the crime. Ty’Zae Robinson, 19,
was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a handgun. He was arrested on an active war- rant on Saturday, December 14th. His charge is linked to the death of Baez.
Ms. Kiara Ragins, 24, was arrested December 15th, by the Plant City Police De- partment. She has been charged with accessory after the fact to second-degree mur- der. Her charge is the result of being the alleged get-a-way driver.
The investigation is con- tinuing.
On November 15th, of last year, firemen with the Hills- borough County Fire Depart- ment responded to a call at 6221 16th Avenue, South. The firemen discovered a mobile home in the back of the prop- erty on fire.
Once the fire was extin- guished, the firemen located three bodies inside the struc- ture. The deceased were identified as Derek Archie, who would have celebrated his 32nd birthday on Monday, November 19th; 28-year-old Xavier Greene, and Ms. Haley Stone, 20, all of Tampa. Man Injured By Gunfire In East Tampa
2900 block of E. Banza Street
Police are investigating a shooting that left a man in- jured. The shooting took place in East Tampa early Tuesday morning.
According to Tampa Police, officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of E. Banza Street, shortly before 2 a.m. The caller reported hearing 3 gunshots.
Police then received another call in reference to a victim suf- fering from gunshots in the 1900 block of E. 24th Avenue. When the officers arrived, they were told that the victim had been shot at the Banza Street location and ran to a house on E. 24th Avenue.
The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. The suspect is described as a Black man, approximately 5’10’ and last seen wearing a bur- gundy colored sweater, dark pants and a dark hat.
The investigation is contin- uing.

Last Friday, Detectives
with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office ar- rested 23-year-old Ricky Wilkerson, Jr., and charged him with three counts of first-degree mur- der, armed burglary of a dwelling, and robbery with a firearm. He is currently being held at the Hillsbor- ough County Jail without bond.
At the time of the mur- ders, police obtained video surveillance from the area. The video showed three peo- ple getting out of a white Nis- san Altima. The cameras also
captured a gray Infiniti at the residence. One of the occu- pants set the residence on fire and fled the scene.
Detectives identified that person as 28-year-old Xavier Whitehead. Whitehead was arrested on December 1, 2018, and charged with arson.
Five days after the triple murder, Tampa Police lo- cated the white Nissan Al- tima. A records check revealed that Wilkerson was the registered owner of the vehicle. During the inves- tigation, detectives identified Wilkerson as the suspect in the triple murder.
Man Charged In October Home Invasion Murder
An 18-year-old man was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and two counts of attempted second- degree murder.
The charges stem from a home invasion in which two people died and two were in- jured.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, on October 10th, deputies re- sponded to 5410 N. Falken- burg Road in reference to a shooting. When they arrived, they located a deceased man in the common area of the mo- bile home park, and another deceased man inside one of the mobile homes. A woman in her 60s suffered gunshot wounds as well.
Both the woman, who is the only known occupant of the mobile home, and a man in his 20s were transported to a local hospital. Both of the vic- tims were admitted in critical, but stable condition.
Detectives learned that several people were inside the

mobile home when the shoot- ing took place. The two dead men were not identified.
Police said several individ- uals entered the mobile home in an attempted home inva- sion. One of the suspects shot and killed one of the occu- pants. At that point, the woman armed herself and subsequently killed two of the suspects.
Detectives identified
Mauntellis Deone Williams as another of the suspects. He wa arrested on December 9th and charged. The investigation continues.
