Teenager Snatches Purse Of 89-Year-Old Woman
Detention Deputy Arrested On DUI Charge
    Tampa police are currently searching for a teenager in connection with a purse- snatching. The incident took place last Friday at the Family Dollar, 1727 E. Busch Blvd.
According to police, the 89-year-old victim was shop- ping around 1:30 p.m. She left her purse in the shopping cart as she went to reach for some- thing on a shelf. At that point, the unidentified teenager snatched the purse and fled the scene. Police later located the purse, but the victim’s
wallet was missing. It con- tained an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect is described as a Black male, about 5’ 8” tall, with 5 or 6 cone shaped dreads on his head. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, an Adidas jacket with three white stripes on each sleeve, and black slides.
Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact the Tampa Police De- partment at (813) 231-6130.
Last Saturday, an off-duty Detention Deputy was ar- rested and charged with DUI. He was arrested after a traffic stop on Bloomingdale Avenue and Watson Road.
Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Leighton Ricketts was pulled over in a traffic stop in his personal vehicle shortly after 2 a.m. He did not submit to a breath sample at the scene. However, as part of the investigation, he was arrested for suspicion of DUI.

 Accidentally Discharge Of Gun Leads To Arrest
School Bus Attendant, Husband Jailed On Drug Charges
  The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man and charged him with being a felon in possession of a firearm. The incident took place last month.
According to police, Eric Anthony Hall, 42, went to Shooter’s World, 116 E. Fletcher Avenue around 5:30 p.m. An unidentified woman was at the range shooting when a shell casing went down her shirt. She reacted by lowering the firearm in her hand, but accidentally turned the muzzle towards a range safety instructor who was working with her.
The gun discharged and the safety instructor was struck in the right upper thigh. The victim was transported to Tampa General Hospital, where he ultimately suffered the loss of his leg as a result of

accidental shooting. Investigators learned that
Hall had rented the Glock 9 mm that he and the woman had been shooting. Hall is a convicted felon and not al- lowed to possess a firearm. He was arrested and charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, police said.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested a woman and her husband after executing a search warrant. The couple lives in Lakeland.
According to police, on Friday, December 13th, under- cover narcotics detectives served the search warrant at the home of Ms. Mary Whitehead, 36, who is a

school bus attendant and her 41-year-old husband, Anto- nio Whitehead.
Both Ms. Whitehead and her husband were charged with possession of cocaine, possession of mari- juana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both were released after posting bond.
