Joe Tessitore and Booger McFarland are out at "Monday Night Foot- ball."
The pair had been part of ESPN's "MNF" broadcast team the past two seasons but have been told they will not return, according to two news reports.
The move was first re- ported by The Athletic, which reported their succes- sors will be hired internally,
JOE TESSITORE AND BOOGER MCFARLAND
but that no decision has been made yet.
The New York Post re- ported that Steve Levy on play-by-play and analysts Dan Orlovsky, Louis Rid- dick and/or Brian Griese are the favorites as their re- placements.
ESPN, which named Phil Dean as its new producer for “Monday Night Football” on April 30, recently tried to lure Tony Romo away from CBS and made another run at Peyton Manning.
Telvin Smith Pleads Not Guilty To Unlawful Sexual Activity With Minor
TELVIN SMITH Telvin Smith was arrested
last week and charged with un- lawful sexual activity with a minor, and the former Jack- sonville Jaguars star is pleading not guilty to the charges.
Smith has waived his ar- raignment and filed a plea of not guilty, according to a court filing. He also chose to waive his right to being present at pretrial conferences, likely to help limit his exposure to the media.
Smith has been accused of having sex with an underage girl he met in August 2019. He allegedly was informed that the girl was under 18 but continued to pursue having sexual rela- tions with her. Smith report- edly gave the girl $200 for her troubles after his sexual en- counter with her, and she used the money in part for emer- gency contraception.
The two had another sexual incident in September 2019. The girl told family members about the incidents, and police were notified.
Police investigating the matter saw that DNA inside Smith’s car matched with the girl’s DNA. They also have voice messages from Smith to the girl.
Frank Gore Says He Turned Down Offer From Raiders
Frank Gore had an op- portunity to join the Raiders for their inaugural season in Las Vegas but chose to go to the East Coast instead.
The veteran running back said that he had an offer from the Raiders but turned it down to sign with the New York Jets, in part because of his relation- ship with coach Adam Gase.
“I got an opportunity to get back with a good friend and a guy I respect, and I’m happy that he wanted me to be on his team,” said Gore. “And I’m happy to be around a guy who
FRANK GORE
has done some great things in this league in Le’Veon Bell. That can motivate me. And I can help out the young kid that they just drafted, La’Mical Perine.”
