Meek Mill Welcomes Newborn Son On His Birthday
BY TALK TO ‘EM DA DON
We are welcoming Swavor as our Artist Of The Week.
Swavor was born and raised in Tampa. He is not new to music at all, music runs in his family. He grew up watching his big brother show off his talents and being his protégé. That inspired him to do everything I’ve seen him do, whether it was playing sports, to rap, to playing drums in church.
His mother sings and plays the piano in church. His father was a popular DJ in Tampa back in the 80s and 90s, known as “Music Man.” So, music has always been a part of him.
The first EP he dropped back in April 2018, was named “Trap Rok”! His latest EP is named “Heartbreak Swav.” He dropped in February for Valentine’s Day, both on all Music Platforms. Trap Rok 2 dropping soon.
His biggest influence is God because without Him, he is noth- ing. He put him first in every- thing he does.
He’s influenced by the failures that led to success. All the blood,
sweat, and tears, knowing the feeling of never giving up even when you feel like it. That’s his biggest influence in Life.
What makes him different is his versatility. How he is able to jump in any genre of music whether it is Rap, R&B, Pop or Rock, and he can totally be him- self with it. Becoming one with the music and having a deep pas- sion for it. He’s not afraid to be different. With the style alone, from his stage appearance to his creativity, he loves to try differ- ent things. It’s an unexplainable feeling, but that’s what makes him different. Not only does he take it very serious, but to also grow with his craft.
His advice to upcoming artists is to keep God first. Invest in yourself, study yourself, and study your craft. Stay humble, but always hungry for more be- cause the more you grow the bet- ter you get physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Continue to have a pure heart. Nobody is going to believe in your Dream the way you believe init, soattheendofthedaygive it your all. And always remember to spread Love.

“My girl is with me pregnant watching me tweet about my ex is very clownish ... Ima exit,” Meek wrote.
From Lee Everett To Lucius Fox: The Black Actor Who Has Voiced Gaming’s Most Memorable Characters
Meet Dave Fennoy, the man behind the voice of some of the most popular video game characters around. The award-winning actor is per- haps most known for voicing The Walking Dead’s Lee Everett and is credited for countless other roles. You may also recognize his voice from shows like Young Sheldon, early Hulu advertisements, or ‘90s cartoons like ProStars. Despite having major success in the world of gaming, his road to the industry wasn’t lin- ear.
“I was pursuing a career in acting and voiceover then video games came along after I was already doing this for years,” Fennoy told The Root. “It was only after being a voice in, 70, 80, 100 video games

that I realized, ‘Oh, you know what? This is a special indus- try.’” Now, Fennoy estimates that he has voiced over 400 games.
Video games have proven to be a great escape for many, es- pecially during the coronavirus
pandemic. Video game usage increased by 75 percent during the early stages of social-isola- tion measures, according to a Verizon report.
“I think it’s a good thing we do have the video game indus- try and gives people an out. While we’re in this quarantine, I just want to say thank you to the people who are on the front line. I have a stepdaughter that’s an emergency room doc- tor in New York. She’s facing this every day along with the nurses, the people who clean the rooms, the people who are in the grocery stores picking up trash, the mail carriers. All those people that are still out there where we’re staying safe from our homes, making sure that we’re getting the things we need.”
COVID-19: Beyoncé, Tina Knowles Sponsor Free Tests In Houston
While undeniably heart- breaking, it’s no surprise that black and brown people are disproportionately affected by the devastating effects of the coronavirus pandemic. Ac- cording to the CDC, as of mid- April, roughly 33 percent of COVID-19 fatalities are African-American people.
In order to combat the spread of the illness in her home state of Texas, Beyoncé and her mother Tina Knowles-Lawson are team- ing up to encourage Houston residents to get tested through the #IDIDMYPART Mobile Testing Relief Campaign. The initiative is sponsored by Queen Bey’s BeyGOOD.
According to a press re- lease, the tests will be admin- istered this week, and will provide “1,000 test kits, face masks, gloves, essential vita-

mins and household supplies to citizens of Houston.” The free test will be administered under incredibly safe condi- tions, as those who are partic- ipating won’t have to leave their vehicles. 500 tests were administered at Houston’s 3rd Ward at Cullen Middle School on Friday, May 8, and the other 500 tests were con- ducted at Forest Brook Middle School in North Houston the following day. Both days of
testing took place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Participants received a gro- cery store gift card from Bey- GOOD purchased from Houston grocery store chain H-E-B Grocery Company, as well as a voucher for popular Texas restaurants Frenchy’s Chicken and Burns Original Bar-B-Q, and a brochure on how to stay safe and healthy during these stressful and un- certain times.
