An argument between two men ended in gunfire early Wednesday. The shoot- ing took place at a West Tampa business auto body shop.
Tampa Police Officers re- sponded to a 9-1-1 call shortly before 10:30 at the AA Auto Body, 1904 W. Columbus Drive. When they arrived at the scene, they dis- covered 41-year-old Ben- jamin Rodriguez Barral, of Tampa had been shot. Barral was transported to a local hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
Detectives learned through their investigation that Barral was a former employee of the business. He had gone to the shop around

Man Injured In Gun Battle With Police
The fight escalated in the parking lot at which time Al- fonso produced a gun and allegedly shot Barral.
Police said after the shooting, Alfonso fled the scene in a red Corvette. How- ever, a short time later, he re- turned in a different car. He cooperated with detectives on the scene.
Police did not give a rea- son for the altercation. Al- fonso has not been charged in connection with the deadly shooting.
Detectives are continuing their investigation and work- ing with the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Of- fice to determine if any charges will be filed in the case.
Teacher Charged With Molesting 3 Girls

The St. Petersburg Police Department arrested a mid- dle school teacher Wednes- day. He was arrested shortly after 8 a.m.
Joseph Zavalnak, a teacher at Meadowlawn Mid- dle School, was charged with five counts of lewd and las- civious molestation. The three victims were between the ages of 12 and 18 years of
ageA. ccording to police, two of the incidents took place at the end of 2016 and that in- vestigation led to another in- cident that occurred in 2013.
A 24-year-old man is fac- ing charges after he report- edly exchanged gunfire with police. The incident took place Tuesday night.

around 11 p.m., police re- sponded to an armed rob- bery call at a liquor store at the intersection of N. 56th Street and E. Fletcher Av- enue.
Police said a man entered the store, bought an item, then robbed two people in a car in the parking lot of the business. Officers obtained a photograph of the suspect from the surveillance cam- era and circulated it.
Police stopped a vehicle Wednesday afternoon at the corner of N. 53rd Street and E. Fowler Avenue. During the traffic stop the officer re- turned to his patrol car, and the passenger in the car re- portedly shot at the officer.

Bowie was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for his injury. Bowie was transported to the Hillsborough County Jail, where he was charged with attempted first-degree murder, discharging a firearm from an occupied vehicle, and carrying a con- cealed firearm.
He is currently being held at the Hillsborough County Jail without bond.

KADEEM DAREEM ARCHIBALD
... Charged with second-de- gree murder
Earlier this week, a 26- year-old murder suspect was arrested at a local attor- ney’s office. He was taken into custody without inci- dent.
According to the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Office, Kadeem Dareem Archibald was taken into custody shortly after 2 p.m., Monday. He is currently being held at the Hillsbor- ough County Jail without bond.
Detectives had issued a warrant for his arrest in con- nection with the death of

Khando Kerr. Kerr, 37, died as a result of upper body trauma on May 16th.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 9-1-1 call in reference to an injured individual. When deputies arrived at 1509 E. 128th Avenue, they discov- ered Kerr’s body.
During the investigation, police identified Archibald as a suspect in the case and issued a warrant for his ar- rest.
Police have not released any additional information about the murder.
