Damian Lillard Miss Blazers Game For Birth Of Son
DAMIAN LILLARD
Damian Lillard did not play for the Portland Trail Blaz- ers in their game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednes- day night. The star guard has a family matter to attend.
Lillard flew home to Port- land from New Orleans after scoring 41 in the Blazers’ 107- 103 win over the Pelicans. He is going home to attend the birth of his son — Damian Jr.
The 27-year-old point guard has been excellent this season, averaging 26.6 points, 6.5 as- sists, 4.4 rebounds and a steal per game. The team is similarly enjoying a fine season and is third in the West behind Hous- ton and Golden State.
NFL Legend Jerry Rice Proposes To Longtime Girlfriend
LATISHA PELAYO AND JERRY RICE
Wedding bells are ringing for football legend Jerry Rice!
The 55-year-old Hall-of- Famer proposed to his longtime girlfriend Latisha Pelayo at the DeBartolo Family Founda- tion All-Star Charity Gala on Saturday in Tampa, Miami.
In video footage of the sweet proposal, Rice is shown stand- ing at the podium at the event with Pelayo standing off to his left.
“I have four words that I want to say to her. That I want to say to this woman that has sup- ported me for so many years,” Rice says in the clip. “Latisha ... will you marry me?”
Pelayo responded with a simple nod and, as the crowd erupted in applause, Rice is shown dropping to one knee and presenting her with a ring. The couple then embraced with a kiss.
Ahead Of Schedule
With ACL Rehab
When Deshaun Watson suffered the first torn ACL of his football career while he was playing at Clemson, he was somehow able to fully re- cover in just five months. While he may not return quite as quickly this time around, the quarterback ap- pears to be ahead of schedule once again.
Houston Texans head coach Bill O’Brien told re- porters on Tuesday that Wat- son is expected to be on the

Ndamukong Suh Signs
One-Year Deal With
Rams, Takes Less Money
By Monday evening we'll know which team – Kansas, Villanova, Michigan or Loy- ola-Chicago – will be able to call themselves the 2018 NCAA Tournament champi- ons.
That will be determined over the weekend during Saturday's Final Four game.
Two No. 1 seeds have ac- tually made the Final Four, along with No. 3 seed Michi- gan.
The biggest surprise, by far, is the No. 11 Loyola- Chicago Ramblers making it all the way to the final week- end.

Ndamukong Suh has fi- nally decided where he wants to continue his football ca- reer, and Los Angeles Rams fans will be quite pleased with his choice.
The Rams announced on Monday that they have signed Suh to a one-year deal. The deal is worth $14 million and that the defensive tackle took less money from L.A. than he was offered elsewhere.
The Rams have seemed like the favorite to land Suh all along, and their defensive front should be among the

best in the NFL with Suh and Aaron Donald rushing op- posing quarterbacks. Suh also considered signing with the New Orleans Saints and Tennessee Titans.
Odell Beckham Will
Not Play Without
Contract Extension
Odell Beckham, Jr. is entering the final year of his rookie contract in 2018, and the star wide receiver wants a long-term extension. If he doesn’t get it, he is apparently willing to sit out as long as necessary.
Reportedly, Beckham “will not set foot on a field” unless he can come to an agreement with the Giants on a new long-term deal.
Beckham is willing to sit out regular season games, but it likely means a training camp holdout at the very least.
Beckham is set to make around $8.5 million in 2018, which is roughly half of the

average annual salary the highest-paid wide receivers in football are getting. He wants to be paid in line with those players, but Giants owner John Mara warned Beck- ham over the weekend about his off-field conduct. Mara also hinted that trading Beckham is not out of the question.
