threatening injury. Detectives developed
leads in the case that led them to 27-year-old Rosier Louissaint. Louissaint was arrested and charged with aggravated battery. The investigation is continuing.
Pinellas County deputies have arrested a man and charged him with attempted murder. He is accused of set- ting another man on fire at a homeless camp in Oldsmar.
According to police, the in- cident took place shortly after midnight Saturday in a wooded area southeast of Tampa Road and Eastlake Road.
Deputies responded to the location and discovered 60- year-old James Heffernan was suffering from severe burns over more than 75 per- cent of his body. Heffernan was transported to a local trauma center, along with 64- year-old David Mahoney. Mahoney suffered burns re- lated to extinguishing the fire. Harold Rosenbaum, Jr., 44, was not injured. Police said all three men were intox- icated.
Detectives learned through their investigation that an ar- gument occurred between Heffernan and Rosen- baum. At some point, the quarrel turned physical and Heffernan left the tent with Rosenbaum following him. Detectives said the two con- tinued to argue outside and Rosenbaum picked up a gasoline can as Heffernan struggled to get away from him.
Moments later, Mahoney came out of the tent and saw Heffernan fully engulfed in flames. After struggling with Heffernan for a few minutes, Mahoney was able to put the fire out, which caused burns to his hands and feet.
Through their investiga- tion, detectives were able to determine that Rosenbaum had poured gasoline on the other man and set him on fire. Heffernan was listed in crit- ical condition. Mahoney is expected to recover from his injuries.
Rosenbaum was arrested and charged with 1 count of at- tempted murder.
