85th Birthday!
Yours truly’s mom, Chris- tine Hill was surprised at her 85th birthday celebra- tion held at Leroy Selman’s Steakhouse in Brandon, FL.
When she arrived, she was overwhelmed by the unex- pected surprise of family and friends already seated in the restaurant. She shed tears of joy and thankfulness to see all of us present.
Out of town guests were Maurice and Bridget Lockhart from the Caroli- nas and Keith McNair from Mt. Dora, FL. Others family members and friends were local. There was a lot of good food, laughter and fun!
My mother celebrated her 85th Birthday! She is the mother of Gloria Jean Mc- Nair-Johnson, Ted and Sandra McNair, Reggie and Tauheedah Hill-Bar- rett, Shaunquinn Hill, Purcell Hill, Dorian Hill, Jordan Hill and Carol Hill.
Those in attendance were: Ted and Sandra McNair, Mary Patterson, Brandi Jeffrey and Carol Hill; and children, Steven An- thony and Elaine, Keith McNair, Maurice and Bridget Lockhart, Gloria Johnson, Sheldon An- thony and Shaunquinn Hill.
Those who sent well wishes in cards and gifts from afar were: Charles “Chuck” Jeffrey, Tauheedah and Reggie Barrett, Shane Anthony, Sr., Sha-Ron Anthony and Jackie Rivers.
She has been a foster mother a few times. She is a grandmother, great grand- mother and even a great, great grandmother.
She was truly blessed as we took lots of photos and she graced the tiara on her head like the queen that she is.

‘East Tampa Ready For Hillary’ Support Party Held
BY GWEN HAYES Sentinel Editor
As the video for Presiden- tial Candidate Hilary Clin- ton was being aired nationwide, residents in East Tampa were also gearing up for the next 18 months of campaigning. The “East Tampa Ready For Hillary 2016 Party” was held on Sunday, April 12, 2015, the day of Hillary Rodman Clinton’s video announce- ment of her plan to run for President.
Neighbors of East Tampa came together at Total Image Beauty Salon, 4713 N. 40th Street. Ideas were discussed and plans were made.
“Continuous voter educa- tion with registration in our community as well as strong support of our Democratic Candidates is our focus,” said Mrs. Mae Alice Judge, owner of Total Image Beauty Salon.
Ms. Fran Tate added: “East Tampa has got to get on board. We will not wait until the last minute to get people organized.
“It is important, it is im- perative that people under-
stand that we must partici- pate in all elections. That is a right people fought and died for and it is our obligation to participate in the election process.
Mrs. Betty Reed
stopped by to show her sup- port and to share her plat- form. Ms. Tate says, Please like, join and share our page, East Tampa Ready For Hillary 2016. Check the cal- endar for upcoming events; plan to attend and bring someone with you.”
According to Ms. Tate, the East Tampa group’s next event will be a voter registra- tion drive to be held on Mon- day, May 11, 2015 (the day after Mother’s Day). The group will meet at Total Image Beauty Salon, spend 30 minutes educating volun- teers, then go knocking on doors for 2 hours. “For right now, we’ll be going out once a month, but that will pick up as time moves along,” she said. “Get ready, East Tampa, here we come!,” is being used as a slogan.
For any additional infor- mation, contact Mrs. Judge at 626-2161 or Ms. Tate at (813) 675-7532.
