MR. CEPHUS ‘SHORTY’ WREN
Funeral service for Mr. Ce- phus Wren “Shorty,” who passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at 2 p. m. at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, with Rev. W. D. Sims, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Cephus Wren was preceded in death by: his father, Cephus Wright, Sr.; mother Minnie Robins-Wren; sister, Dorothy Davis; brother, Harry L. Wren; brother-in-law, Demetrius Mormon, Sr.; and special friend, Curtis Anderson, Jr.
Cephus leaves to cherish loving memories of him with: fiancée, Elizabeth Thompson; step-children, Caro Nelson (Kenneth, Sr.) De’Ron Thomp- son (Paula), Shannon and Dannon Wilson; 5 step- grand- children, Kenyondra Nelson, Kenneth Nelson, Jr., Keondre Nelson, Shae’la Thompson and Deronda Thompson; brother, Alphonso Wren of Cheverly, MD; 3 sisters, Mary Wren of Washington, DC, Rosa Wren of Oxon, MD, and Velmer McBride (Lavon) of Sumter, SC; aunts, Maybelle Morrow of Sumter, SC, and Gloria Wal- lace of Philadelphia, PA; uncle, Joseph Ross of Sumter, SC; mother-in-law, Barbara Allen; brother-in-law, Michael Thompson; 2 sisters-in-law, Tyna Thompson and Chevelle Thompson; 2 aunts-in-law, Carolyn Burgess-Govan (Rus- sell) of West Palm Beach, and Diane McCray of Gainesville; and special friends, Joanne Anderson, Leon (Lena), Vin- cent Anderson and Richard.
He also leaves to mourn his passing a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
Cephus Wren was born Au- gust 30, 1952, in Washington, DC, to the parentage of Minnie Robins-Wren and Cephus Wright, Sr.
Cephus attended the public schools of Washington, DC. Cephus loved spending time with family and friends.
There will be a viewing on Friday, April 17, 2015, from 5- 9 p. m. at Wilson Funeral Home.

MR. JAMES MILLER, SR.
Mr. James W. Miller, Sr., 77, of Tampa, peacefully an- swered the Masters call on April 10, 2015.
Mr. James W. Miller, Sr. was born December 18, 1937, to Roy Thomas Miller, Sr. and Ellen Elizabeth Lockley Miller in Philadelphia, PA. He was one of two siblings. He was educated in Philadelphia, PA.
He was united in holy mat- rimony to Elizabeth Adams in 1971, and to this union there were two children.
Mr. Miller worked for Cen- tury Window Cleaning Com- pany, where he retired. He later relocated to Tampa, where he has resided for the last three years.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his brother, Roy; his grandson, Patrick James; and a lifelong compan- ion, Ethel Shannon.
Mr. Miller leaves to mourn and to cherish his memories: three sons, Carl Jones (Janie), James Miller, Jr. and Seann Miller; four daughters, Made- line King (Isaiah), Tracy Davis (Darryl), Ellen Miller and Michelle Miller; 11 grandchil- dren, Ieshia, Shannon, Michelle, Ishikeiah, Storm, Jabreal, Abdul Nasir, Dante, Darryl, Debra and Karen Sur- rett; 18 great grandchildren; close family friend, Iris Gilchrist, the mother of Carl and Madeline; nephews, Dar- ren and Darryl; and a host of nieces, other nephews, cousins, and loving family and friends.
Services for Mr. James W. Miller will be held on Saturday at 11 a. m. at New Salem Prim- itive Baptist Church, 1605 N. Nebraska Ave., Tampa. View- ing will be one hour prior to service time.

MRS. EMMA LEE HIRES
Funeral service for Mrs. Emma Lee Hires, who was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednes- day, April 8, 2015, will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at 11 a. m. at St. Luke A. M. E. Church, 2709 N. 25th Street, Tampa, Rev. Ronald E. Williams, Sr., pastor, with Elder Joseph L. Reed, Jr., offi- ciating, and Pastor Debra Ford, eulogist. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Hires is now rejoicing with: her husband, Lawrence A. Hires, Sr.; brother, Tom C. Bynnom, II; uncle, Shedrick Godwin; two loving aunts, Odelle Keith and Beatrice Pounsel; and niece, Josephine Filmore-Frazier.
She leaves to cherish memo- ries of her with: four devoted and loving children, Sylvia Hires-Pilcher (Fred), Lawrence A. Hires, II (De- lores), Linda Hires and Sandra Hires, all of Tampa; grandchil- dren, Dreka Hires of Atlanta, GA, Millicent Simmons, Den- nis Simmons, Damon Sim- mons, Ebony Smith, Desmond Smith, Stacy Hires, Lawrence Hires, III (Elaina), Danielle Hires, Nakisha Davis (Bran- don) of Charlotte, NC, Marcus Hires and Kiara Hires; a host of great grandchildren; a lov- ing brother, Lawrence E. Byn- nom (Gwendolyn) of San Diego, CA; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; sisters- in-law, Marie Killins (Arthur Lee), and Dreka Bynnom; and a host of other relatives, neigh- bors and sorrowing friends.
Mrs. Emma Lee Hires was born on August 6, 1934, in Tal- lahassee, FL, to the late Tom C. Bynnom, Sr. and Gladys Lee Bynnom. She graduated from Middleton High School in Tampa, where she met her husband, the late Lawrence A. Hires, Sr., who served as a Ser- geant in the U. S. Army. They were joined in holy matrimony on August 11, 1951, and to this union was born Sylvia, Lawrence A., II, Linda and Sandra.
She attended Gibbs Junior College in St. Petersburg, FL, and went on to work as a Teacher’s Aide at Dunbar Ele- mentary, and she was a Cub Scout Den Mother in the early 1960s. Mrs. Hires was later employed by Honeywell Elec- tronics, where she retired after 18 years of employment. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and caring for her mother.
There will be a viewing on Friday, April 17, 2015, form 5- 9 p. m. at Wilson Funeral Home and the family will re- ceive friends in the chapel

Frederick Thomas Wilson of Tampa departed this life Wednesday, April 8, 2015. He was 28 years of age.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 18, 2015, at 11 a. m. at Thirty- Fourth Street Church of God, 3000 North 34th Street, Rev- erend Dr. Thomas Scott, pas- tor, with Pastor Shellie Truss, officiating. Interment will fol- low in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Frederick Thomas Wilson was born on July 1, 1986, in Tampa, to Betty Jean Williams and Patrick Moore. Frederick /Freddy/Yoda grew up in Tampa. He attended the schools of Hillsborough County, graduating from Blake High School. He was an outstanding young man, very respectful and always had a smile on his face. Yoda was an entrepreneur - he made money - money didn't make him. He resided all his years as a resident of Palm River Village.
He was preceded in death by: his grandfather and grand- mother, Thomas and Jessie Mae Williams; 3 aunts, Vir- ginia Ann Williams, Helen Marie Williams and Dartha Ann Williams; an uncle, Henry Jackson; and cousin, Myla Presley.

Ms. Shana Burden of Tampa, passed away April 12, 2015, at The Melech Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at 2 p. m. at Genesis Worship Center, 3412 East 7th Avenue, Reverend Alfonzo Broughton, pastor, with Reverend Hersey Jackson, officiating. The inter- ment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery.
Shana was born on May 15, 1976. She was a graduate of Robinson High School. She was very active with the Chil- dren’s After School Program at Sulphur Springs.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her dear parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jessie (Dorothy) Burden, Sr.; fiancé, James Hall; loving children, Laneesha Owens, Albert Sher- rod, Jayqwan Hall, Antwan Banks and Javaughn Johnson; sister, Jesstina Burden; two brothers, Jessie Burden, Jr. and John Burden; seven loving aunties and four caring uncles; three dearing nieces of Tampa; a faithful friend of the family, Stanley Wilson and a host of other loving family and friends.
